I seriously always figured the reason some people said purple was either because they're trolling, or colorblind.

But given that for every 2 people that knows it's blue, 1 says it's purple, I'm starting to believe some people really do think it.

The real question is whether the people saying purple truly believe it with real data to back it up, or just going by 'faith' in what they think they see.

We could draw some parallels here between the purple-believers and religion.

I believe a lot of people see the red in the centre of the chest plate and that makes them see the blue as being more purple. If you cut out all the red sections of the armour, people would be able to comprehend the blue better.

Although unfortunately people really DO think it's purple, and I just...I can't...I don't see it. It's most obviously blue. I'd RATHER it be purple, I really would, but every time I see one my mind says 'that adaman hauberk is definitely blue'.

Its both, the main body plate is purple with blue shadowing, while the arm and lower plates are clearly have a stronger blue tint with purple shadowing.

Thus shadows/lighting cause it to shift between the two colors depending on what angle your looking at it from.
