naive idealist checking in
But, but, but you were singing my praises just one post before...
cognitively, we would be significantly less logical if we were somehow devoid of hate. Hate is an integral mechanism in our brain to allow us to make rational decisions.
Not to mention thinking it's something we can weed out biologically is lol
we've managed to weed out alot of other instincts, i dont suppose hate is an instinct but if we can get rid of our need to bash women over the head with our clubs and rape them in our caves it seems to me we can get over our need to kill needlessly, cant we just let our robots fight it out?

No kidding lol, I dont even know about this thread anymore. It seems to have been infiltrated by people that have no idea what they are talking about.
You're better than me Rob, these fools make me want to punch myself in the face. QQ
lol Max. I like how everyone name drops you to up their Science cred, it used to be Woozie for a long time.
Shit is hilarious.
is hate an emotion? honestly not really sure. i guess if love is an emotion hate is as well.
also i never claimed i knew anything about what i talk about, just hope for something better then what we have now. i have a great life, good job, awesome kid and pretty cool wife who lets me hit that pussy once in a while, could be better but im happy. would be nice if everyone in the world could have something similar, or at least something that makes them as happy as me.
also i'm not smart, not max smart by any stretch and never said you weren't smart maxxy, just that there are much smarter out there doing things way over your head. something similar to how i feel when u guys jaber on about GUTs which is why i stay out of the hadron thread (i troll everywhere else except there) because i have the utmost respect for smart peoples and wish i knew more of sciencey stuffs
love science fiction so maybe my ideals stem from a world that doesnt exist and maybe cant exist. just would be nice to think that we are capable of great(er) things
HAHA <3
Edit: TD the smart thing wasn't a direct swipe at you, I was commenting because this is the first time I've read this thread since Friday.
The only thing I took offense to is the (paraphrase) "smart people don't post on a video game thread". I know for fact that is not the case, Woozie is a double major Math/Physics, Kaylia is too iirc, Neo and Krys are just bad motherfuckers and are actual physicists and a nuclear physicists. Khamsin is an engineer, Eliseos and I am a Grad student in the Cosmology department etc. I know I'm off of a few of those but they get the gist of what I'm saying lol , they all are extremely smart and some are just over the top smart.
But yeah, it wasn't a shot at you like that. It was just a general recap of the shit that went down over the weekend. Wanted to clarify, that comment made me seem like I'm full of myself of something and im not like that at all.
no offense was taken, i didn't pick my words correctly, or maybe it was misread but i didnt intend to accuse everyone on this board of being stupid.
obviously lots of really smart people, but what i was alluding to was that there are certainly alot smarter people out there that are working on things inconceivable to not only me but i hope the people on this board as well
I don't know why. I'm not an actual smart person.
Incidentally, in my specific field, relativity, and my developing temporal interpretation of quantum mechanics... I know my shit. Woozie has me beat in the math skills, though I'm catching up with sheer obsessive retard strength. I'm sure everyone has their field which they know better than I do... except SR/GR, and time. I have some things I need to talk with Einstein about, but he's stuck upstream in time.
Doesn't hurt that I got rid of the biggest thing holding me back mathematically, I hate arabic numerals. I remember telling my girlfriend that numbers weren't real to me, because I was so used to thinking arabic/hindu = numbers, but they're just symbols.
Now, these...

(Courtney's Modern in Base 12)
I don't have to translate those from silly terrorist scribbles into numerical concepts, these are more like what I have in my head.
base 8 or gtfo
lol, you could do eight too.
I'm rather mad at myself for never trying that before though, held me back for years because I couldn't enjoy Math properly when there were lots of non-variables used.
Back on topic, another upside of space is certain molecular construction techniques, like vapor deposition, x ray calligraphy, all that shit... it's easier in zero G.
Well, true, but that's a derail for the other thread.
