rifting doesn't really count for what people reliably pick for targets in high level group vs group, which is rare enough in itself. In rifting, it's whatever you zerg with vs a random disorganized assortment of the opposing race, just trying to get a kill for their own AP, so obviously clothies are gonna be first target.

The only real group v group combat at the moment is dredgion, besides a very rare abyss encounter, and I can assure you chanters aren't a priority target at all in those situations.

I laughed my ass off after insulting some asmos during the shard battle and I ended up being targeted fairly quickly. xD

Chain or Leather for Chanter. As much as I want to test it out, can't really afford to.

That is a very interesting thread. The vague conclusion I got out of it was, leather is nice for PvE (group or solo), but PvP you'll get more out of chain, and at endgame regardless you should go with chain because specific bonuses improve. So, don't roll for leather over sin/rng, but you can use it otherwise as long as you know what it's good for.
