A beer that references Frank Zappa on the label is definitely worth my time.

When I drink beer, I drink it for the taste. This shit is pretty much just another hard liquor IMO, and when I want hard liquor, I'll crack open some Wiser's De Luxe.

Anyone that just writes Sam Adams off as just another American beer without trying it has their head shoved way up their European ass.

That being said, yes I would definitely want to try it just to say I drank Tactical Nuclear Penguin.

I'm not a fan of the Boston Lager, but some of their others are pretty nice. Bitches love the Cherry Wheat.

$60?! Can't you just pour Everclear into your beer of choice?

Wouldn't that mess up the taste?

I know it's flavorless, but so is water, and if I add too much of that to my hot chocolate it makes the flavor weak as hell.

And as someone said earlier, this isn't beer. But it's also not carbonated whisky. (Fuckoff FF spellcheck, ya ignorant git)
It is to beer what applejack is to hard cider, or in a less correct but probably better known example, what brandy is to wine. Beer is not involved in the whisky process.

    Fuck that 8% bullshit.

I'm sure the beer in question tastes like garbage. But there are a lot of beers above 8% that are fantastic.

    St. Bernardus ABT12 - 10.5%

Delirium Nocturnum - 8.5% (Ok it's close, just wanted to put it on here b/c it is a very good beer imo)

    Double Bastard Ale - 10.5%

QFT, lots if not all Belgian Quads are in the 10+ range and they are fantastic and hide the alcohol well. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned DFH 120 although I hear it's got a very strong alcohol burn.

While I respect Mad Dog for being a very creative and innovative brewery I can't see a reason to make an unnaturally high ABV beer other than just for shits, giggles, and bragging rights. As a homebrewer, that thought has never entered my mind. I just wanna make beer that tastes good. lol

Two of my favorite beers are above 8% (however, not much):

    La Fin du Monde
    Maudite

Almost everything made by Unibroue is great. They're not the type of beers that people that enjoy Budweiser would be drinking though.

Marketing... we are talking about their products because of something they did. Do you really think restaurants fight for the 'worlds biggest burger' status because they expect people to eat it?
