Tell this to every single billboard within 10 miles of my house that are all in Spanish. Also, tell this to the grocery store near my house (which also has the cheapest prices, which is why I shop there) that has everything labeled in Spanish with English words really small at the bottom.

Maybe they're not explicitly marketing a product towards your demographic? Should we force all businesses to advertise in English?

My mom only speaks Spanish yet she lives just fine in New York without knowing English. Seems silly to me to force communities like Washington Heights to strictly learn and speak English when the general population is Hispanic. What about Chinese communities? My wife's family does nothing but speak Mandarin when they're together, doesn't irk me, I even find myself catching words and sentences I can make sense out of. I'm all the better for it.

If your having trouble understanding a different language other then English in the U.S. then ask someone to help you out, shouldn't be that hard to find a bilingual individual if your supposedly within a 10 mile radius of everything being Spanish.

why even move to america if you are unwilling to make any adaptations in culture? seems pretty dumb to me. There sure as fuck are english communities here in china where i could get by without knowing any chinese, however it would be rude as fuck to the chinese I do interact with if I didnt learn any while I live here. As far as I'm concerned, as long as you don't bitch about things not catering to your foreign-ness, I could care less if an immigrant doesn't learn english. But if you haven't given your kids the ability to speak it and you want to put them in a school with my (theoretical) kids, then you can fuck right off with that.
