How are people calling discrimination on this? Being fat isn't a "protected" class that anti-discrimination laws cover. You have a choice to be overweight and even if you bring some silly medical excuse up, there's most likely a way to combat that medically too.

Fat people are working to get it classed as a disease and a protected status under the law to prevent discrimination.

They have to grease up the lawmakers before they can bake it.

I don't know how far they're going to get with this whole complaint thing. I would say they bit off more than they can chew, but that seems unlikely.

an honest question to people who are affected by this:

if they didnt have this as something you pay for in your tuition, but still a mandatory FREE assignment in order for you to get your credits, would you still do it? provided they supply you with water/gym benefits/diet plans and whatnot.

or would you find some other way to graduate or transfer to another college to get your Associates/bachelor's/etc

    be honest

When people say that they "pay for" a class, are they talking about:

    • Semester Fixed Tuition
    • Cost per Credit Hour

I know most CC's require you to pay per credit hour. So when they get pissed they have to pay for the class, I can understand the frustration. But fixed tuition doesn't care how many credit hours you take. Don't know if people are breaking it down from this or not (like 15k per semester divided by 16 credit hours = how much I pay for each hour + other factors).

Either way, complainers shut the fuck up. Man I LOVED how I had to take a fuck-ass remedial math course because my ACT was low and I didn't take the test-out exam (I was told I didn't make the cut-off when I was registering a week before class, so I was fucked either way since the test-out was 2 months before that). I didn't complain to the press about it, and I just went on with the school's policy.

To Richardd: I would do it even if it cost me (although if it was a CC and I was just trying to transfer to a 4-year without an AD, I wouldn't).

I'm 6'2.5 and 239 right now after being in about 3 months of regular weight training. Along with the weight training came a lot too much snacking, so I'm planning on seeing how my weight changes after eliminating those.

I was roughly 230 before derailing my diet, so I can probably drop down to there in weight rather easily, putting me at a solid 29 as far as BMI goes.

On weightlifting specifically, does anyone have a good exercise for the pecs that doesn't require a spotter? Current weights used at the moment:
    Spoiler: show
All weightlifting exercises are done with 3 sets of 10 repetitions on machines, no one-rep maxes.

    Vertical Chest Press: 130 lbs.
    Lateral pulldown: 150 lbs.
    Dead Lift: 190 lbs.
    Tricep pulldown: 120 lbs.
    Bicep curl: 80 lbs.
    Leg Press: 480 lbs.
    Leg Extension: 210 lbs.
    Leg Curl: 190 lbs.

Although I suppose there's a bunch of 6'2, 235 linebackers in the NFL.
The problem is when you have both fat and muscle, I guess. Quick research shows that while linebackers are around that weight, linemen themselves are much heavier than that. Certainly not healthy, though.

    Quick research on linemen:

Linemen, as you said, aren't healthy at all, they die significantly early and suffer the same medical problems (diabetes, sleep apnea, etc. etc.) that all fat fucks do, despite being professional athletes.

Just curious how much does everyone pay per semester for University/College?

(please include other factors such as out of state tuition and what country you live in)

To me this is the most retarded thing I have ever heard of. Yes I do think they should encourage it, however it shouldn't be required.

It just sounds like these colleges are trying to milk more money out of people with some BS requirement.

If anything, they should offer it, and if you take the class, get a card or something to eat free from their healthy menu at the cafeteria. Do it every quarter and bam, free food for college.

32k for private uni which includes room and board. This is static and I got shafted with 14 hours this semester because of the time I got transferred. People complaining about this thread don't know what the fuck, seriously.

6'2" here, 325-330lbs depending on what I am that day.

My BMI typically clocks in at around a 42. I know I can lose weight, and I'm trying to, in fact I'm down from my all time high of ~360 and hoping to get sub-300. I'd have no chance of making it under 30BMI unless I lost approx. 100lbs more, so if I were paying by credit, this policy could have been a dealbreaker for me if it was known at the start, as was said. Especially if I judged two colleges as having roughly equal upsides to them.

That being said, the people who take up 2-3 seats like they deserve it for being walking lard sacks irritate me to no end, as well as the fact that it seems as though anyone weighing over 250lbs has to drive one of those little motorized wheelchairs at Walmart.

    ---

Interestingly enough though, I went to six flags this past summer. In that time, I was unable to get on four of the five rides I went to (the exception being the log flume). The reason I expected would have been that I'm simply too wide to fit in the rides. This was true for one of them, but for the rest, it was simply that my frame was just too large to accomodate. I was surprised that they couldn't let me on because I am FAR from the fattest person I see at many places.
