They're not antibiotics, those would have to be filled by a pharmacist. Someone else already posted it, but it's basically a mixture of Tylenol and an antihistamene. Tylenol is a pain killer, I don't know why the dentist would have given him antihistamenes though.

I've had my dentist hand me antibiotics directly before. I don't know exactly what the rules are, or if they vary from state to state. But your reasoning here appears to be incorrect.

And while I'm not a medical professional of any sort, I will point out that if indeed these are acetaminophen, even of the OTC variety, you need to be careful. It is rather easy to overdose on acetaminophen with potentially serious consequences. There was even a recent stink about this from the FDA regarding Vicodin.

If you're not sure, call your doctor or pharmacist. Period.

Oop I didn't see this, but yeah when I had my wisdom teeth removed they had me take some antibiotics before and then gave me a few to take before I went to bed that night. Was 4 pills total iirc, 2 before the procedure 2 after.

Wisdom teeth aren't bad if they're a clean pull, and your dentist is good. I had three wisdoms yanked, and had zero pain, zero swelling... they just bleed like a motherfucker... like for 8 hours.

Be very careful with that area. A scab is trying to form, and if you "suck it out" you can get dry socket... which is NOT fun (so I'm told, you'll be in horrid pain for days on end).

No straws, no sharp foods, no gum or gumlike foods, no smoking, no spitting (you can kinda drool into a sink if needed, but be careful)...

You might not even need the pills to be honest.

Also adding this: I got a script for oxycodine in August. Took one dosage, didn't need the rest. Flushed them down the crapper. (incoming rage)
