    Need a new phone

I'm in the market for a new phone, and I'm looking for some suggestions. I don't want anything quite as advanced as an iPhone or a Droid, but I do need a QWERTY keyboard. The three I've sort of had my eye on right now are:

    Samsung Rogue:

    LG enV 3:

    LG enV Touch:

Can anyone recommend one of these, or another phone? I'm on Verizon, by the way.

The Blackberry Tour is pretty badass if price isn't an issue, I have it and couldn't be happier

Price is an issue, PDA/Smartphones are a bit out of my range. I've heard the Tour is badass, though, wish I could afford one.

I would go with the enV2..... my sister and boyfriend both have them, and love them.

The enV touch, I heard has some issues on touch response.

I would also look at the chocolate touch, heard its either out or due out shortly.

    *also*

If you buying a phone from verizon that offers a mail in rebate..... I would goto bestbuy, because they will sell you the phone for the price after the mail in rebate. So if your buying a phone thats $150 and then comes with a $100 mail in rebate (making it a $50 phone), bestbuy will sell it to you for $50.

    Sad but true :/

But having an all-in-one that isn't gimped in any particular area is nice.

old blackberry phones are still good. i have an old 7100g from like 2004 that works like a charm. you can get a jailbroken iphone on ebay and connect to any network if you'd like to have an iphone.

recently went back to an old nokia brick i had a few ringtones stored on since i'm too cheap to get the internet service from at&t.

I have the Samsung Rogue and I love it so far. I spent a while debating between that and the enV Touch at the Verizon Store, and I eventually decided on the Rogue because I preferred the slide-out over the flip motion (it's much more fluid and comfortable, in my opinion.. kind of feels like I have a Sidekick <_<), and with the enV Touch I felt like I would just be paying extra for the second screen and not for any increased performance. I will say that the keyboard is a bit more comfortable for the enV Touch, but both work just fine.

I've played around with friends' iPhones, and aside from the obvious point of the iPhone's customizability, I actually like the Rogue better. As far as I know, it has a higher screen resolution than the iPhone, and overall I think it's aesthetically better than the iPhone, which is nice for a relatively cheap phone. I'd say the only real negatives for this phone are lack of customizability (such as 3rd party apps, games, themes, etc., but that goes for most Verizon phones) and the fact that the activation for unlocking the touch screen isn't a slide motion, but a simple press, which means you're more likely to accidentally unlock the phone in your pocket than the enV Touch. Hasn't happened to me yet, but it does make me feel a bit uneasy.

And don't get the Chocolate Touch. Chocolates are terrible.

    Blackberry Bold 9700.

The new touchpad is excellent compared to the old Bold ball.

I have that LG Env3, it's a pretty nice phone. One thing I like about it is it rings loud as hell so you can hear it all the way across the house. lol

Also it has a 3MP camera with flash, built in photo editor, mobile IM, GPS (optional), and some other neat features. I have Verizon service with it. One thing that's cool about it is you can email mp3's to your phone and save them as ring tones so you don't have to go and buy them...

Oh, and my girl has the same one as well, she loves it too.

LG Versa is a step up. I've had it since the beginning of September love it so far. It's pretty much the Dare 2. It is like the Dare, but much faster and with a qwerty keyboard.

Tried the Samsung Rogue. Worked however I wanted to access LS forums with it. Invision Board for some reason and the Rogue built-in browser did not get along. I could not stay logged into the site. or would not load up/display correctly. took to Verizon store and had tech play with settings, never got it to work right. all other websites worked fine.

Exchanged it for the LG Touch. works flawlessly. able to visit sites I want including Invision Board style and no problems. people say they have had issues with battery life and touch screen. the newest ver. 5 of the software fixed battery life. It lasts about 5-7 days before needing to recharge. this is with occasional texting and calling. not a heavy user myself. I dont have issues with the touch screen.

copy and pasted if link dont work:

From the “this might not come as much of a surprise” department comes the latest wireless customer satisfaction survey from Consumer Reports.

The annual results from over 50,000 readers surveyed in 26 U.S. cities found AT&T to have the lowest customer satisfaction rating in 19 of them, while Verizon ranked highest (that undoubtedly stings AT&T).

Considering that customer complaints have frequently been brushed under the rug as relatively isolated problems in high-profile markets like New York City and San Francisco because of the proliferation of iPhone usage, the poor showing in the 17 other markets suggests AT&T’s problems are wider ranging than public relations would have consumers believe.

What’s fascinating about the survey results is the huge percentage of iPhone users — 98 percent — who say they were satisfied enough with the phone itself to consider buying it again, even though the same sample set reported extremely low satisfaction with AT&T’s exclusive carrier service. The average “would buy again” metric for other cell phones across the four networks was only 79 percent.

A spokesperson from AT&T stressed that their low 1.17 percent customer turnover (or churn) was a better indicator of customer satisfaction than the Consumer Reports survey. On the other hand, if a huge swath of those customers are only sticking with the carrier because they simply have to have the iPhone, it’s still not good news for AT&T, especially when its iPhone exclusivity ends — which it will, sooner or later.

If verizon carried iPhone I would be so happy.

under 10 dropped calls in 4 years, and the other day in one conversation 3 times it dropped.

Also getting text messages and voicemails 3-4 hours later then when the phone rings is stupid...

I had the old HTC Kaiser/AT&T Tilt and loved it... but it only survived 14 months before deciding one day it wouldn't get a signal to make any calls/texts/web ;/ Other than that was very reliable.

i have an htc touch pro and love it. as soon as its in ill have my tp2. this basically replaced my laptop from a buisness perspective. i only reccomend this if you will use all of the features and have the patience to flash energy rom 3.X (W/e hes up to now) and do a lot of tweaking.

these things are super powerful, awesome to look at, and a blast to play with.

While currently dealing with Sprint.... I want to nominate them for worst customer service! lol

I have a Palm Pre on sprint... and have had nothing but issues with it. I'm now on my 4th palm pre, in 4 months due to faulty hardware and because i've exchanged my phone 3 times in a short time frame I cannot get a replacement phone sent out to me if this one breaks (even with insurance) until a 6-month period has passed. Sprint sucks lol
