I don't think the Brazil group is going to be as bad as we think it's going to be. Brazil vs Portugal will be rough. But I really don't see Ivory Coast putting up much of a fight as well as Kim Jong Il.

If US finishes 2nd, it will face the winner of Germany's group. If we come in first, we get the 2nd place of that group.

2nd is easily attainable. But I don't see the US taking first unless the Brits take a mental vacation.

Yaaayyy... more drunken morons singing war songs... I hate my country when alcohol is involved. So embarrassing.

I hate watching premier league football (I don't hate the game, just the players~) but the World Cup is always good fun.

I'm just crossing my fingers that England and Spain won't meet each other. My better half is Spanish so that would be an 'interesting' match to watch D:
At least I'd get laid if England loses...

Fuck yes, England vs the USA right away. Can't wait for the US to pull off the upset and beat the Brits at their own game, and then rub it in when no one here even cares.

Ivory Coast have a few brutal players on their team. Drogba, Kalou, Toure are all top class players.

From Englanders? While they are quite pessimistic, they usually blame the coach and why he can't do it with the top talent in the world. Then they go on about how great the premiere league is.

which of course is ironic, considering the incredible lack of english players in the league... i guess my point being that lalas doesn't know what the fuck.

So on paper it looks like the US should be able to escape their group. Hopefully they can do it this time. Looks like this year it going to be interesting, I like how there are 2 groups of death, but there are tons of matches this year i cant wait for.

I mean come on 2 big matches right at the beginning

    US vs England
    Germany vs Australia

Both of these should start off the world cup with a bang

Then you have France vs Mexico half way thru...

Oh this is going to be good....

    So excited..

This is just stating a few standouts but there are more and there are alot of good matches.

That's another topic that is hilarious to get into with English football fans.

I thought Lalas was starting the trash talking with a good rip on how great England thinks they are.

I think Mexico has a good shot to get through, but the host nation is always a dark horse, especially when not much is expected out of them.

What team do people see as being this years Trinidad-tobago?

Denmark and Slovenia I see are the Trinidads of this World Cup... But, in the end, Italy will prevail and come out on top! Viva Italia

I think group A is the group of death really. No really good team in that group... any of them could qualify. France are not the team they were and South Africa are the poorest host nation in donkeys years. Uruguay and Mexico are also just average teams.

I'm glad England play USA first. We are a completely different side with Capello in charge and that group should be no problem for us at all. Our first 11 can take on anyone in the world. The problem comes if we get too many injuries or suspensions. We don't have the strength in depth that Brazil, Spain and Italy have. If we get some luck with injuries/suspensions then we have a chance, provided we also perform of course.
