Ridill has far more practical application that Hauteclaire, and I don't think that kind of reaction is warranted for it either.

I wasn't suggesting otherwise, I just don't think its necessary to jump on somebody for thinking a generally lackluster weapon doesn't have any use, when they're not that far off.

Seriously, I got kind of excited when my Haute dropped, I needed a second sword for my DRKs awesome dual wield set. My Hofud was lonely.

I do however use it on anything that I'm not engaged on or if for some reason I go PLD to a Tav run.

That was in like, 2008, before Atonement was released, we were 0/80 on Khim before this one dropped. Coincidentally, it dropped on the Khim right after Manae transfered to Bahamut, he had camped at least 78 of the 80 pops we claimed not counting those we lost(which didn't happen often tbh, Alexander sucks).

I'm not a PLD, I just know from the people who have talked about it, Hauteclaire is generally a useless weapon and not worth the time/reaction to camp it.

Not fighting to give mob TP, and just kiting. Macu
/nin when you are TPing on a mob that doesn't have a peace TP move or a massive reduction to physical damage. Joytoy.

I was under the assumption that /WAR is only used really in dynamis now a days and everyone goes on here about how PLD is useless in dynamis sooo, I just figured it really had no use anymore.

PLD still has its uses in small Dynamis groups, if I had one I'd use it for Xarc probably.

Completely disagree. IMO, If you're using a paladin, and its something you can safety engage, you should be using Joyeuse. Even if something is resistant to the damage, or if you're blood-tanking, you may as well justify the party slot with some sort of damage.

In my opinion, Hauteclaire is only useful in dyna/einherjar if you're /rdm to hold hate off the sleepers. Otherwise, use joytoy for everything and hauteclaire as town gear onry.

I can think of 2 situations we use reguarly that Haut is nice

1. Odin, Paladin holds all 3 of the summons

2. Dynamis Xarc - Holds 2 NMs are the NM Towers as Melee widdle them down

Correct me if I am wrong, but I simply cannot find a situation whee a PLD goes /war to, that the mob is alive long enough to actually get a WS off, and if you do, you won't have any hate.

Protip: You're looking at it backwards. PLD doesn't belong in dyna/ein/limbus. If you can't atonement, you should be using a RDM tank. Even if you can, you would often be better suited with a SAM tank
