    video capture card problem

I recently bought this capture card

    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...203&CatId=4957

when I stream anything 480p and under, its perfectly fine, runs well. If i try to do 720p or 1080i I will get no video.
After much MUCH testing I have narrowed the problem down to my motherboard...

I have tried the card in all slots, updated bios, reformated.

I tried the card in my spare pcs, and it worked fine in all of them, in XP and windows 7.

Normally at this point I would just say the card is bad but the thing is it works in every other system except for my main pc.

    AMD FX-55
    Asus A8n SLI deluxe
    4gb ram
    ATI X850XT
    Windows XP 32

    Worked

To make things even weirder, I can see the 1080i capture stream using virtualdub but ONLY in preview mode (cpu render) trying to set it to overlay mode will just give me a blank screen again. This definitely points to the video card but I disproved that by getting it to work fine in the other systems.. I've run out of ideas =(

If it works in one mode, but then not overlay mode, that sounds more like a drivers/codec or options problem and it could explain the differences between the systems, if they're not configured all exactly the same. I'm not sure, but that'd be my best guess to tinker with next.

Ya I've been trying to mess with aero settings and even turn off hardware acceleration but no luck so far =/. Waiting on tech support email to respond
