I think the really interesting thing about this show is that it's so popular that it influences american vernacular, with things like GTL, grenades, landmines, smooshing/smashing, and all that working its way into people's everyday speech... even if they don't watch the show. Haven't really seen that since Seinfeld was on, although Seinfeld was seemingly on a much larger scale probably because it was on the air for so long.

My personal theory (after watching more reality TV programs than most people should ever consume in a lifetime) is that part of the reason why this show is so popular is that the cast members are (with a few obvious exceptions) somewhat intelligent and nowhere near as vapid or shallow as they're made out to be, or at least have more substance than our significantly low expectations of reality stars in general.

I don't think they can keep the lightning bottled up for more than 3-4 seasons but it's definitely fun while it lasts. Aside from the more skill-based well established reality competition shows (top chef, project runway), Jersey Shore is by far my favorite.

Uh.... I think w/ the exception of Jwoww, the women on the show are not that intelligent at all. Definitely agree w/ the influence on vernacular, gotta give props to their writers for coming up with it.

Honestly I think the situation dancing with the transvestite was overlooked a lot. I think he was a lot more upset than he seemed, but wanted to keep his persona, so just kind of shrugged it off. But in the meanwhile, he was probably crying on the inside, lol. But props to him for keeping his cool regardless, it takes some kind of emotional wall to just swallow that for the camera after everyone heard you hitting on the transvestite and grinding with him on the dance floor.

I really lost a lot of respect for Vinny. He is definitely one of the most level headed, well-rounded guy in the house but his game is weak as fuck. Telling that Go-Go dancer that she's his future wife and that he wont talk to any other girls for the rest of the night made him seem lame and desperate. That was confirmed when the chick cancelled on him and he pouted then went back to beg her to come ("Please, please, please, please.") Then he ran back to the guys like he just spit some sick game to get her to change her mind when he really begged and pleaded. Then she ignores his phone call and he looks like a loser sitting on the couch for the rest of the night. Pauly D > All

also, lol @ Mike making a sandwich and offering it to the chick Pauly D was smashing WHILE Pauly was trying to get it in.

i've seen the guy DJ IRL, lol. he sucks monkey ass lol. i rather hire some high school kid with itunes, because his sampling and beats are incredibly mundane. people like Perm, who posts on here are miles ahead of the guy, but he's actually a pretty cool fucking dude. he's not as big as he looks on TV though lol.

tbh, i want to meet Sammie. the girl looks ordinary as hell, but she's a fucking pro with those hair extensions and makeup, because she stands out too much as being the pretty one, imo.

Pauly D is awesome, I agree with Vinny though, the way he was interacting with that dancer was all wrong. I don't know that almost felt scripted because no guy is that retarded, right?

On CNN/HLN Online video there is a report that Snooki had Alcohol Poisoning and had to have her stomach pumped while in Miami >_> MTV swept it all under the rug and showed no video of her even having to go to a hospital.

There are guys that are that retarded. I can name 2 friends of mine immediately who have game like that. They think a hot chick is into them and they turn straight bitch. Trying to tell them everything they want to hear, trying to be the sweetest/nicest/romantic guy during the first convo. That's a recipe for letting females run over you and use you. Vinny just seems so lame to me after that episode.

Tonight is the next big fight! I just hope they dont drag out the whole episode so the fight is during the final 5 minutes and they cut in the middle of it to make you watch NEXT week too to see the fight in its entirity like they did for the Sammi-Jwow fight.
