I bet anyone going on the show now would assume they were just going to be crazy famous from it and do stupid shit to be "so Jersey Shore". Even though that's what's pretty much happening now, I image it would be so much worse without a possible Season 1 where they just be themselves.

Maybe it's just from seeing other reality shows in passing, but as they go on, they generally get shittier because people's reason for joining for show change. In the last season of Big Brother, like 2-3 episodes in everybody was planning on what to do when they got out and got famous, rather than just playing a game. It might be different from a normal reality show, but more characters would come out to try and be on the show to do stupid shit to get famous, rather than going to do whatever they planned for in Season 1.

I agree with the second paragraph, I just think the show seems to be doing just fine right now despite them all being "famous." They would have to do a good job casting it to make it work, but I think it could be done.

They would be foolish to gut the whole cast, at the end of the day it's the reason why people watch the show. I could see one or two members getting big-headed and leaving but there's no way they would scrap the entire cast. Also I read somewhere that they are already filming season 4 in Italy.
