Yea, that was epically bad lol. Guy showed some skill shedding those two tackles in the end zone, but it is inexcusable that he ran that far backwards.

Yeah... this bowl game is almost as bad as the Orange Bowl from last year. I feel for the Orange Bowl when it's not the National Championship. This bowl game is just terrible.

GT isn't overrated, they just run a gimmicky offense that is extremely effective in the regular season when teams cannot prepare, but won't work in games like this. I'd say a ranking around 10-15 is accurate. UNC had 2 weeks to prepare last season, and won 28-7. This year, 5 days to prepare - lost 24-7.

That being said, this was a disappointing showing for the ACC - Nesbit 2-7 passing for 11 yards? Thanks Jackets.

Maybe the Big Ten is just a hell of a lot better then most of you give them credit for.... 4-3 in bowls with Minnesota losing by 1 and Northwestern losing by a FG in OT. Only team that got beat by a good amount was Mich St who had 10 players suspended.

Who said anything about the Big Ten. Big Ten is considered the 3rd best conference out of, what, 15-20? Got a Napoleon complex?

On top of that, MSU went 3.5 quarters toe to toe against TT and lead the game for a bit too.

I think overall, and the bowl games show it with how well they played against tough competition, the Big 10 is on the up and up. They can easily lay claim to the 3rd best conference this year, and the 2nd best overall when Alabama beats Texas.

Horrible night for Tech though, and I love it. Cheers!

Ohio State wins Rose Bowl over Pac10 champ Oregon
Wisconsin over Miami
Penn State over the SEC's LSU
And I know it was a loss, but shit Northwestern takes Auburn to OT. NW. Auburn. NW might have won had half the team not been so worried about their applied theoretical physics finals the week before! This game is as close to a win as a loss gets.

2 BCS wins, only 3 bowl losses by 1, 3, and 10 points- really only Texas Tech over MSU was a bad loss. Not too bad for a conference that everyone seems to just love trying to bury every year.

Big 10 may be considered one of the top 3 THIS year, but usually they are put around 4th or 5th at best, frequently thought of as the worst of the BCS conferences along side the Big East when they don't have their crop of one hit wonders. Most people rank the SEC, Big 12, and either ACC or Pac10 depending on what season it is ahead of them.

Normal Auburn fans will probably brag about any win, and hoot/holler, etc. Not me. Auburn this year on defense was TERRIBLE. Not average, not slightly below average, but TERRIBLE. It's like their defense/offense numbers swapped places from last year, when Auburn couldn't score for shit last year, but their defense for the most part was good. Not this year. I like the direction they are taking, but they need to sure the defense up if they expect to hang with the SEC or any top ranked teams.

Still, I don't mean to take anything away from NW considering their postseason history. I'm just saying it's not as awesome of a win if this would have been Auburn of a couple years ago.

And yeah, I never knew people who said 'lolbig10worstconferenceever' -- I always thought the Big East were more toward the bottom than the Big 10. :/ People who thought the Pac 10 was the second best are insane as well. Big 12 wasn't anywhere up there this year, ACC was average as always, but the Big 10 really did well this year. Props to them.

I don't think that's been the consensus at all recently. Maybe people are down on the conference because Michigan's hit a rough patch, but top to bottom it's pretty solid.

Big 10's been getting hate because of Ohio State getting smashed in 2 of the last 3 NC.

The conference as a whole is better this year, definitely better than I was giving them credit for.


Right before that int td I was getting ready to make a post about "well at least someone other than Florida is playing well in the bcs, even if it is Iowa." Then both teams basically played like shit the rest of the way.

But Iowa came out very strong and was very impressive early, especially on offense.


GaTech as mentioned, it's a tough offense to run because people have a hard time defending you with limited time, but with a month to prepare the parity of athletes just makes it so so tough to succeed with now.

But yeah, Big 10 went 2-0 in bcs bowls for the year, regardless what you think of their opponents it's pretty hard not to respect that.


The Big 12 could have too, though, and after the performances by Cinci and both teams in the Fiesta, and then what Nebraska did, we can say in hindsight should have had the chance to ;p
