I would expect Tuberville to bring his own offensive system, will be interesting to see how it works out.

I'm glad he got a job. He was a good coach that was wrongly fired. Then again, his players basically said 'fuck it' and quit on him.. so we'll see how things go.
Damn, was hoping we had a shot at Tuberville here at USF.
So 4 NFL GMs have said that Tebow will be gone before the 2nd round is reached...
I've heard the Jaguars might take him in the first round to save the franchise.

But at the same time, I don't have to hear his name 7203974123809098 times on Saturday anymore. So yay!
The Tuberville hiring at TTU makes me cringe, its being reported he has no control over the rest of his staff...I'll give him 2 years before he leaves for another SEC/ACC Coaching job.
That's OK I don't watch Pro as much! Plus hoping he fades away into obscurity soon enough... But then that will lead into 23,901 ESPN specials of whatever happened to Tim Tebow? WE CAN'T ESCAPE HIM! We must send a T-800 back in time to keep him from playing football!
OK Enough bored ramblings. Playoffs are finally on!
First off, just a general no.
If Ingram got hurt before he could put up any points, I'd have said something along the lines of "Well, damn. That's a super disappointing way to get a title, but meh, not going to complain." Especially if it was still close.
Secondly, a huge specific no:
If Texas started with the ball, went straight backwards, then pulled a retarded failed fake punt from their own 20ish, and then Bama was driving down the field effortlessly, about to score a touchdown <2 minutes in despite not starting with the ball, then Ingram went down, and Bama couldn't move the ball without him for the next 40 minutes, despite multiple huge mistakes giving Bama the ball back in Texas's end, not to mention the freshman running back handing off idiotic turnovers, YOU guys would be crying up a storm, and I'd still be saying "Yeah, shitty way to win, too bad, could have been a great game."
As far as the Tubberville thing, very interesting, and potentially great move for Tech. The offense is not changing, this is set in stone. He knows going in that he's there to let the offense do its thing and build a defense of a caliber to match it. If they can maintain even remotely close to their current scoring ability, while having a top notch Tubby defense, they're going to be freaking scary as shit.
Seriously, though, if you guys know 1 thing about me besides the fact that I'm a big 12 fan, it should be that I'm never going to tell people injuries are meaningless and blah blah blah.
Then again, you guys can safely say that about the bama game, because if Ingram went out and Colt was healthy, it would have been like a 40 point game and at some point I would have had to say "yeah, Bama wasn't going to win that period... unless Colt got hurt before he could put them up 28-0."
Kirby Smart has officially been offerend the UGA DC position according to the Tuscaloosa News. The AJC has also confirmed that Smart has an offer on paper in front of him as we speak. Some recruiting chatter has also mentioned UGA is making some odd calls to recruits, suggesting that they're letting recruits know Kirby Smart is the guy before the press is able to make an official announcement on Monday.
Yay ^_^!
Doesn't mean he's gonna take it. Even if he does, it's a shame Bama doesn't play UGA this year, we can't properly punish him for his foolishness. That is, unless UGA wins the East next year... not holding my breath for that one.
Also, just read the article, lol at this:

Also, holy shit @ Saban.
He played at UGA I think.
Ahh, gotcha. Yeah, I remember someone mentioning his ties to UGA, but couldn't remember who said it.
Does anyone think Carroll will have success in the NFL? I think he was good in college because he was an excellent recruiter. NFL players don't give a shit if you have a good haircut and nice smile and fun practices. You can't just recruit superior talent and win 90% of your games on that alone.
I can think of 2 coaches that had great success in both (Switzer and Jimmy Johnson) and a few that were ok in both (Dennis Erickson) and some that were ok in one and great in the other (Bill Walsh) but they are relatively few. There are any number of guys that went from NCAA to NFL and were miserable failures (recently, Spurrier, Petrino, Saban, etc) I don't think Pete will last more than 4 years and he'll be pining for USC again.
No. He's going to a losing situation. Sure the NFC West is terrible, but so are the Seahawks. They have a QB that can't stay healthy, I don't even think they have a RB core worth mentioning, and their defense is terrible. His success is in recruiting. He's been a good coach too, but that's not where he really makes his money imo. He brings in the good athletes.
Smart played football at UGA, both he and his wife are graduates, she was involved with UGA's womens softball team, and they apparently have a lot of family still here as well...
Yes it's a lateral move, but coming back home to coach your alma mater is a big deal...Smart is "UGA Blood" but with a lot of outside influence that the program really needs.
Edit: As for Pete Carroll, He must be thinking "If I ever want to coach NFL again and prove I can do it...its now or never" and I can kind of agree with that. He is a fool for leaving USC however, and they're going to have decommits out the wazoo in the next 2 days, let alone before signing day. He's going to leave that program hurting for a job he has a good chance at bombing out in. I hate USC, but love Pete Carroll as a coach, and I just don't think he has got NFL coaching talent...nothing wrong with that, just dont screw yourself and your team over in chasing it.
This is why I think it can work. Carroll will be decent, but no one can make Seattle a contender overnight. But his NFL resume' isn't that bad, he only had one year with the Jets, so he couldn't really get anything going. In New England he had some success with two trips to the playoffs in three years, but then again he had a lot of talent left over from the Parcells era.
The interesting thing will be if he's given GM/operations duties, and enough time to actually mold a team. He's obviously a good talent evaluator at the collegiate level, so we'll see if he's able to build a successful NFL team through the draft and free agency, rather than just letting kids visit your campus and buy them cars get them laid impress them with USC's fine academic record.
