If anyone is interested, I found some more gear that can be etched.

Primate Staff
Diamond shape, 7/Light

Black Tunic
Filled upper Triangle 2/Light

Chain Hose
Filled upper Triangle 2/Earth

Going to etch my Black Tunic to get double light and see if an evolith with a strength of 1 will stack

You're most definitely not going to get 3 slots on a single piece of gear all etched with all light-elemental double-circle shapes.

The slot can hold a maximum strength of 2 for the element of light. The thought was what if you got two of the same evoliths with a strength of 1 light, and you could stack them on top of each other. This more than likely will not work, but that was on of the questions posed earlier in the thread.
The idea was that you take the two hour evoliths and stack them 4 times on the same slot or until it reaches the max element for that slot, so then instead of the 2hr only taking off 1 min, it would take off 4 minutes, and if you could do that accross 5 pieces of gear, then thats 20 mins off your two hour. One can dream right?

Also, every single piece of the ebon gear of a particular set may not have an open circle available on it. The Shikkoku Togi only has room for two Vs. Family Evoliths and 1 magic specific evolith.

The slot size is what size aperture of evolith it can hold UP to. Not how much quantity of element/shape can go in the slot.

It's basically only a system that keeps awesome evoliths (larger in size) from going on low-level equipment, because low level stuff can only get small slots.

I'm almost certain that evolith inhabit the entire slot regardless of there being "leftover space."

Thus, to do what he said, you would need every piece of gear you're wearing to have 3 Light-doublecircle-1 slots on them (impossible) and even then it would total to what... -45 minutes. If it's one each, it looks like a huge set just for shaving 15 minutes off of your 2hr.

Has anyone tried the Fisherman's Cuffs yet? How good is "Fishing: Presicion Thwack" new command instead of normal Thwack? Or vs Lv.5 Thwack?

It's too late for me since I leveled up Thwack skill, but was wondering if these cuffs would be good substitute so can focus on other skills (even if synergy goes to level 100 in the future you could only cap 4 of the 5 skills)

So in other words other than a few FEW cases, Evoliths are completely worthless, along with most of Synergy.

I have to hand it to SE, they've added yet another useless underpowered bloat to FFXI. And you people trust them to 'fix' this crap in FFXIV. I laugh.

Shut the fuck up and get out of here with that shit. The system's been out for less than a week, we don't know enough about what's been released, and the system is incomplete with alot of room for expansion.

So no, fuck your opinion.

Man, I experimented with HQ, and hp don't seem to matter. Could just be random;; Gonna be very hard to HQ 3 etch in a row lol. I was 4/4 on first etch with HQ, but today I didn't HQ them a lot at all. Finished first etch with 78% hp remaining and 40/40 perfectly aligned and it was NQ with a size 1 etch wtfux.

One week is enough to confirm that it's not good. We have an idea of what augments we can get at best : weapon skill <stufff> or situation : <stuff>, which completely exclude mages for one, and the jobs that don't get to use aern weapons for two.

I did it ^^ Got 3 Smooth synthesis in a row ^^ so my body has 8 - 6 - 5 now but it took me a few tries

It's the last HQ in a row thats a pain, it's pretty easy to get 2 HQs in a row but the 3rd and final is hard especially solo.

Yes salvage was complete when it came out, you could get any piece of gear right at release, same for nyzul and mmm.

Was probably sarcastic, because SE never released a complete system on the first day, not even since 2003, then again people expected overpowered gear should probably stop expecting it, look at when ASA was released and how people would QQ if SE allowed players to make something stronger than their precious Byakko Haidates.

Nyzul weapons were so complete, and MMM also had the fishing and goblin runs.

All Dynamis zones were released when Dynamis first came out, and relic weapons were also complete.

Limbus was released the same time Sea came out. Jailers were also included.

Also, all of the COP, TOAU, WOTG, etc, missions, were all available as soon as they were released.

Augments were available for all equipment up to level 75 as soon as it was released.

For fucks sake, synergy caps at level 50, it's pretty fucking obvious that once they raise the cap, they'll add new recipes, and more equipment will be etch-able. We're not even using all of the "etch slots" yet, which hints that evoliths will also be expanded upon.
