Swashstox Beadblinker just doesn't want to pop. GD this thing. I will say something about strat at least. Not only the NM, but also the PH, comes with 2 other moblins following it. If you're a melee+mage duo, your melee can flee/powder-boots to the west zone, and the mage can stand in the middle of g-8 and grab the swordsman (PH) as the melee passes with the train, and bring it over to a safe raised platform sligthly to the west, and sleep/fight it till the melee gets back. The adds will despawn/respawn at normal locations and not follow the Swordsman. I assume the NM works the same way.

Its Ebon frock, black mage version, with ebur pigment.

In other words, get yourself an ebon frock. Then synergize with an Aptant Secan. Then color with Ebur pigment. Then HQ etch all 3 slots. Then hope they add some nice evoliths in upcoming updates.

Has anyone tested out the blu magic: Atk+ evolith? I'm curious as to how exactly it modifies the spells..

Would be awesome if there was a "Physical Blue Magic: Crit Rate +X" Evolith though.
Perdu wins by far, there's no argument here. A lot lesser delay and much better mods. Concordia/Perdu could be a good combination if you have a great setup for Vorpal Blade. But I doubt this combo will beat Koggel/Perdu, except versus beasts of course. Keep in mind that Koggel gives 4 STR and 4 DEX which is irreplaceable for physical spells, and in TP phase, +4 STR could be translated to +1D for both hands as well.

Page 2 of this thread had an incomplete list of potential evoliths. Is there a more comprehensive list somewhere? Would love to see if there's a way to get some Refresh action on a Furia Talar.

I'll fill you guys in, that haven't been monitoring this and the other thread closely closely. As it stands, this system is close to trash and needs an update badly. Here's a summary of what you need to know, and where to find the information you need:

    About Evolith
    http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Hunt_Registry
    http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Evolith

Either of those pages has a complete list of evo. The Evolith page has a little graph to show you how to make sense of all the shapes/elements.

Essentially you can throw in 3 evos: "vs family: " "vs family: " "magic-related"

Most of what you'll find though, is mediocre.

    New Armor Recipes and Aptants
For the people that are having trouble finding information on how to actually obtain/make the equip they're looking for, go here:

    http://www.ffxiah.com/forum/?topic_id=5946

Page1 of this gives you all the recipes you need to know (at the top). Page 2 tells you the aptants you'll need to farm. Just go to wiki and search for the aptant listed for your job (on page2), and it'll tell you which mobs to farm.

    Pigments
Ebur is the best. Drops off of: Zirnitra, Scylla, and Oupire
Furia drops off of 3 different Pixie NM's. Look for "furia pigment" on wiki to find out where.

Ok, so my main take-away from all that is that there are only 5 of 11 evolith types currently in the game. I'll hold out hope for more advanced hunts and more useful evoliths. Thanks, Shamaya.

the Evolith system as it is now is severely limited, but you can create some powerful pieces of gear for very very specific situations. Some jobs have it well off because the update introduced some nice etchable equipment that can be used with the current range of Evoliths for pretty nice results..

but the possibility of better options out there is pretty high, seeing as there are a whole bunch of shapes available that havent been unlocked, which will probably lead to stronger evoliths...

as such, its probably better to understand the system and wait for better evoliths to come in future updates.. meanwhile, you can still play around with evolith and synergy because you can undo whatever enhancements you currently make on your equipment anyway.

It took over 16 hours for me to pop Swashstox Beadblinker. Probably closer to 20. Definitely was not fun at all... Given what another poster in this thread said, it seems like this NM is always a bitch to farm.

Got a size 5, "Dagger WS: Attack+12" evo, just like the other poster in this thread. I'd like to hope it can get bigger than this. It should. But I'd also like to not have to camp this thing >,< Once has already been pretty bothersome.

I've killed sugaar 14x now, I still only have 2% crit size 5 was my highest. I 3 boxed it solo 12x, and teamed up twice. Both times I teamed up, the other guy got a size 6 3% crit;; Dunno what's up with that.

Gonna kill trying till I kill it 20x. Other diamond droppers have gotten size7 and 8 so it likely exists on this one.

I'd post this in the NM thread but don't wanna bump that atm.

Alright so seriously, has anyone noticed the WoTG "Fomor King" NM's depopping inexplicably? This happened with the Mithra half a week ago. Then yesterday it happened with Galka and Elvaan. It's really really really frustrating when you take ~3 hours to build a pick-up-group capable of taking out these NM's, you go out to fight them, they're up. And then they suddenly despawn without reason, and you can see clearly in your log that nobody has aggro'd the mob. Reported this to a GM but instead of wanting to report it as a bug he said I should check out the community sites, lulz. I'll make sure to report this through the website instead.

Our group had this problem too with the galka. After about 30 mins. No major deaths. People casting on it constantly, it despawned. We had no idea at the time even looking at the logs. Nobody had died when it despawned.

can't say I've ever seen them depop for no reason. Usualy was some rival ls purposely doing it. They do blood aggro, maybe if you are out of range, and they want to aggro you they simply poof instead of drawing in. Haven't fought galka for 30 minutes, maybe there's a timer?

Depop during the fight or before? Shamaya's case sounds like depopping before the fight with no known cause (no aggro from random guy, etc) while Mohit's case sounds like it depopping mid-fight. While it's never happened to me personally, it is possible for the NMs to depop if the next person on their hate list is out of range. (I think, I believe that is what was surmised in the NM thread back in yonder year)

yep, he depopped mid fight for no known reason. but after a bunch of kills it has never done it. But there does seem to be a 2 hour limit in the fight though. That happened once on the drg when we were experimenting with different kill strats. We had a rough estimate of 2hours. In the galkas case though it was 30 mins.

we also payed attention to the amount of time they were up and they dont seem to despawn with zero aggro for a long length of time either. I had a mule with target lock (in a safe spot) on mithra for over a day.

But i have no idea why the galka would despawn. We figure what rocl said and that someone with hate out of range was unable to get drawn in. maybe too close for draw in but too far casting/melee.

    finaly

God damn finally after 16 Sugaar I get a size 6. Dunno if I want to camp it more to try for a size 7 or 8.

    http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...sdf1/size6.jpg

Final result, size 6 6 5 on the slots, dunno if you can get bigger sizes, kinda sick of camping. Anyone get bigger ones for these?
