seconds are completely unreasonable, as there are 7,200 in a 2hr, so taking off 1 (possibly even 100 via equipment) would drop it down to 1hr, 58 mins. So dont see that being it.
-1 min I see, that seems plausable
-1hr, again really doubt it.

I got a little sidetracked here, but I also want to mention 1 thing:
MMM was pretty worthless from the getgo, I know I'll be stepping on some toes, but that was my opinion. Over time, SE did some modifications to it, and now its actually somewhat useful (the r/e drops, makeshift xp zones), once again probably stepping on some toes by not saying its exceptionally useful. Then SE added a couple more things, and made it more useful (Moblin Cest seems to have some decent augs).
Don't dismiss shit after 24 hours.
People need to stop preaching the Augment system and actually go try that shit instead passing off the same screen-shot everyone uses to claim it's awesum. Shit's retardedly random and frustrating.
<quote>I propose that we make Evolith Symbol smilies (From the in-game pictures of the Symbols) for convenience in posting our finds. It is inevitable that people will ask what shape the Evolith/slot is and it would be nice to have a way to respond without having to describe shit. After all, not everyone posts them in pic form.
These are the forms of all the ones I could find in my Character map
▲: Full Triangle
●: Full Circle
■: Full Square
◎: Double Circle
▽: Inverted Open Triangle
▼: Inverted Full Triangle
◆: Full Diamond
◇: Open Diamond
○: Open Circle
△: Open Triangle
□: Open Square
Not sure how many of these are actually going to be used. Couldn't find the "X Button" X, but that's one that I doubt we'll need. In any case, I think these characters look like shit copied straight from the Character map, so I think we'd be better off with Smiley versions of them.</quote>
I’ll run with this. I’ll incorporate it into the list where possible because I like it a lot lol.
Oh, I need some help from you guys with this type of stuff. Providing pictures as evidence of drops is fine and dandy for those skeptics out there, but I need to see text. I have nearly every picture you post, blocked. I know you care enough about sharing the drops you received to take a screen shot > upload the screen shot to where ever > post it on BG. But if you just post a screen shot, without text to let me know whats going on… It probably won’t make the list, as I have all but a few things blocked. Please provide text.
A couple more things to note. If possible can you include the
1) Name of NM
2) Cost to start the hunt
3) Scylds rewarded from completing the hunt
4) Element, socket, strength
5) Drop
Hehehe, believe it or not we even have two posters in this thread who posted a drop without including something as silly as the NAME of the NM they fought. Help me make the list complete

My successes with the augment system:
Triumph Earring - AGI+1
Merman's Ring - Lightning+12
Merman's Ring - RAtk+1
Amemet Mantle +1 - some resists
Mule Weskit - INT+4 (2 tries)
Life Belt - ice+9
Mule Misericorde - some crap lol
Mule Aquilo's - Delay-1%
Mule Jupiter's - CHR+1
Mule Darksteel Buckler - Lighting+3 Racc+3
Not that I've augmented much, but dont hate the system because the game hates you buddy.
So good news about the system from my understanding:
People can alliance to kill the NM and can only do it once a RL day, this will at least help prevent full on monopolization of the NM and will slightly encourage cooperation.
The evoliths appear to be not be random bonuses, but NM specific, though numbers can vary. At least if we find some useful evoliths, we can farm them consistently.
It's pretty safe to assume that more gear will be etchable once they get a feel for how players attempt to exploit the system.
Assuming that bonuses can be weapon specific WS bonuses or family specific bonuses, certain combos will be more than situationally useful. Manaburning gear could be boosted for puddings, bird WS/TS gear could be improved. Maybe some elemental tanking resist sets could be improved. Especially if the higher level tiered evoliths include end game families.
Basically any family related to normal XP camps for melee/mages could be useful, especially if you have the ability to desocket and resocket the same item.
To remain overly hopeful is also a bit much because it is SE. The fact that they added in combos that appear to be set, like acc vs elementals, is proof that they don't give two shits about how people play the game or how they set it up to be played. They love the idea of situational gear and they hate third party programs, so it's completely within reason to think they would want players to add fire crit and water crit to the same item and expect you to actually use those spells frequently (even though fire/water is meh and mcrit sucks harder).
Worst case it's worthless, but you can make money AFKing your crafting mules from people who think it isn't.
once per RL Day? What? The system is set up once per game day, with the counter starting when you get your evolith from the book.
Nah, unless the point ones are, I did two Warboucs (The 0 point valkurn inlet one, however you spell it) yesterday. If the point ones are limited thats something else entirely, but I doubt it
And on a side note, has there been any use of an acronym for these yet? Clearly HNM (H for hunt!) wont work, nor will ENM (e for Evolith!). Maybe EVNM? Did SE give us something to work with and I just missed it? Is red really red!?
I went and did LL yesterday just to see what this is all about...and he gave me vs Vermin: Def +2 and 5 Scylds .... will have to do more though cause i just like killing things
I think there's an all-important factor people are seriously over-looking, and that's HQ's.
We've already seen that you can HQ previously un-HQable shit like juices during Synergy (someone posted a screeny of them getting 3 orange juices IIRC?)
So, who's to say that when you go to attach an evolith that an HQ won't result in a strengthening of the buff? I'm willing to bet that +1 Ranged Attack WS could jump up (can't say by how much though) if you manage to HQ it.
As a fellow thief, I am envious, as I know marginal increases like this make all the diff at this stage of the game.Originally Posted by Nynja
Pretty much all of the other things you listed were garbage though. I got fucking 2chr on my Dragon Harness +1. Whoop-doo-de-fuckin-doo. I think the augment system is poorly executed. I /like/ an avenue towards getting better gear, but thinking about going through 100 or so amemets or foragers before getting that extra acc makes me go a big rubbery one. The fact that I can much more reliably make my amemet+1 better than my cerb+1 kind of pisses me off. But then again, if it took 100 amemets, that's like what, 20m? Cheaper than a cursed cap -1, for an much better improvement, so maybe I'm just being a pussy.
Sometimes I don't prepare enough for a presentation at work, and it's obvious that my preparation was shitty. Same is so with SE. It's so transparent, I can just see devs at home scratching their balls and drinking a heiny. At work and surfing the net. Augment system's big failing is that it's not friendly towards improving the best gear already available. And lack of tradeability (augmented items should not be r/ex, but should be tradeable, just not AH'able; this would be the ideal system).
I won't make any judgments about Evo yet though. I think I'll be able to get a lot of out of it, but I think there will be many people that won't feel it's worth their while. I'm really excited to be improving my char through this. And I have to also agree that it's a bit too early to judge the system.
What would the abbreviation entail though? They're just standard NM's with an added purpose.
Its just Hunt Registry and Evoliths thats new..
I have half a mind to compile everything into an easy to refer list... and the title i woulda used for it is 'Evolith / Hunt Registry System', because thats pretty much what it just is
