I personally stopped caring and wasting my time for a quest that takes 3 hours to get +1 VIT bonus.

97% of stuff SE add are completely useless, just open the AH and watch the amount of useless items listed, and they keep adding stuff no ones care or uses.

I found all Evolith system a complete waste of time, and to the ones who say "hey its day 1, give it time" wake the fuck up.

Scenario of an average Nerd FFXI player:

oh Hi! there is new system and new content, lets do it!
Spend countless days to get a shitty +1 AGI for his PLD
Equip his new shiny weapon and armor
Stare in whitegate cuz nothing new to kill.
Repeat.

After 5 years they still couldnt make something better than Byakko's haidate, going around with the same gear for 5 years is fuckin frustrating.

The reason SE doesn't add better gear is so that people (like you I imagine) don't CRY when the gear you spent months getting gets made obsolete... hence situational gear, sidegrades and other options.

As for no new mobs etc to be added in Xyears... thats just a fuckstupid comment go sit in a corner and THINK for a minute.

I think the 8 is referring to the strength number at the end of an evolith's description, not the number of evoliths individually.

If you can only etch one slot into that ultra-high-end gear (in terms of being crafted, anyways, because it's not really that impressive), though, I'm going to be very disappointed.
