Their layout is pretty terrible. The class sub-forums in particular made me do a double take.

i don't know if there is enough material out yet for class specific threads, but someone *hint*taki*hint* could start a media threadthe bg gods might step in and give us a subforum then. at least once closed beta starts.
Seriously, it's worse than the AH forums over there. The mods are terrible.
*cough*getridofAionsubforum*cough*
That necromancer... god damn. Gonna have to roll one for sure now. Eventually anyway.
Also, i fucking love how Harpys look in this game. So badass!!
What decent sites are out there to advertise guilds up on? I don't really have the time to go digging through shit sites to find any worth while Syntex and I have been discussing and working on a casual flat-organization guild and I suppose with beta coming soon I should probably really finish my coding work soon and start putting it out there. :/
Did you try the TOR forums![]()
I said worthwhile which disqualifies anything to do with TOR.
Aionsource was run by curse.
We definitely need a GW2 forum.
What do you expect from ANYTHING created by Curse? The only reason why MMOC is still decent, is because it was not originally a Curse thing.
There are really no above board GW2 forum communities as of yet. Guru is horrible, and the Zam site is more pathetic. You could try the GWInsider forums, but the game is too "new" in terms of real hype to have any decent community as of yet.
Totally fucking off topic but: FUCK THE DUNES OF DESPAIR BONUS OBJECTIVE. FUCK IT WITH A BURNT FUCKING STICK. FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK. I HAVE TRIED THIS SHIT LIKE 6 TIMES NOW FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK.
Sorry. But I didn't feel like rezzing the GW1 topic. I got on to try and get at least some HoM points (am 0/50), and OCD hinders me from continuing until I have that bonus clear.
i would like to see some vid of someone playing Engi. Guess he's going to be a support class or aren't in this game "support" classes ?
Technically you're 3/50 since just having a character gets you 3 points.
I'm at 28/50 and have the money for 29. Just need my last one to get all the items. :/
Eh just take out the arcanists, leave a spirit spammer on the hero and go rush the generals and take out as many as you feel like you can safely kill(I usually do the first one near the bridge over). Head back to ghostly and defend like normal and then right after you kill the western forgotten boss , go back into the fort and kill the remaining 2 generals. You should have plenty of time left.
Some classes are more support capable then others. But all have support aspects.
ie Water Attunement for elementalists has a decent chunk of healing as well as "control" options. Engineer has a few healing options as well.
While Guardian and (seemingly) Necromancer are highly capable of cleansing debuffs and moving them around. Toss in the protection and control features of the Guardian and you have a very good support class. It just seems that while we wont necessarily have Tank/Heals/Damage, that we basically have "dual spec" that is hotswappable at any time. So you may see a lot of people with a more support orientated weapon set up in one set and a damage set up in the other.
I really do not know how a Warrior, Ranger or Thief becomes more "support" orientated, as I really havent seen much talk about either profession outside of the basic "intro" stuff. Most of the attention has been on Mesmer lately, but the rest has been on Engineer, Elementalist, Guardian and Necromancer. All of which seem to be extremely strong in the support role if correctly weaponized.
Also its interesting to note, that we have still seen extremely little information on Traits.
With the Yogscast video of the Necromancer today it is clear that Necro can become a very potent pet class outside of just the simple Blood Fiend. With a tank Bone Golem, and exploding pets, etc its really a much more interesting class than at first glance. Also its worth mentioning that a LOT of abilities morph into something else when certain things have occurred. ie, while you dont have a pet bar like you have in other MMOs you do have their "summon" button that instructs them to do their special move.
I really would like to see some more info on these traits. I was extremely happy to see that Elementalist "can" be a pet class as well with their two Elemental utility/elite abilities. Now if they can only make the Ranger pet more interesting it would be really nice.
