Oh nice + magic find, sounds like the game will be even more interesting. Hopefully they add Unid items as well before release.
Going to have to pinch myself to stay away from the GW2 wiki for a good long while. All that exploration with traps, mazes, ledge hopping etc..../drool.
Farming skins. Gear is meaningless.
I totally feel like this:

What a liar. That ranger is using axes.
Oh my gosh. I've had to stop reading the threads over there. Arguing and whining about the most ridiculous things. I check the dev tracker and see if there is any news I have missed and then get out quickly. I'm glad I'll be starting in a guild with friends so I can keep my interaction with the crazies to a minimum. Hopefully a large chunk of the complainers leave GW2 pretty quickly...
So, you know guys, I've been thinking. And I feel like, the swords in GW2 are too pointy. It's not realistic. I want swords without points.
Please devs listen to me!!!
^^^^
Ok I made that up but that's like the kinda shit you read on guru.
"I'm gonna kick and scream till the devs listen to me" is a lot of what you get over there. Oh, and they are the self -proclaimed "best and smartest" group of people playing GW2.
After I read that, I pretty much just started going there to troll.
To complain so passionately about these things...they must have a really sad life. Get some perspective, people. Lol!
I didn't think it was, I was wondering why he said that. I noticed in a lot of the Beta videos that gear has stats on it. I'm hoping there will be some good dungeon gear to work towards and/or some nice drops off mobs like that dragon in your sig for those who reach high tier participation.
Armor of the same level only differ in looks. That's always been the case unless changed recently. It's also the case in gw1.
The thing with those dragons and other sort of rare spawns is that it wouldn't be ideal for it to drop specific gear because then people will get annoyed if they keep missing the event. No matter what, I'm sure the rewards for defeating it are worth your effort though.
I'm not sure what you mean by high tier, but I think that's about a mid level dragon. I wanna say like 40ish?
In guild wars 1 armor had some variety in what stats they gave. In GW2 its even more so, have you seen the runes you can add and customize your armor with?, I wouldn't say that its just looks, because I had different armor sets for different builds on Mesmer, there was definitely a variety of stats one could customize armor with. Even so max stat gear will be easily obtainable, even from npcs, what people would be going for in dungeons are rare skins that are only available there.
For example in gw1 there was fissure of woe armor that was a hard to get skin, the stats could be customized but it was no better than what you could get from an npc armor set customized with the same stats. It was just for looks
No. All armor in gw1 was always the same stats per class for every set. There was no difference period between them other than looks. All stats came from runes and insignias. And every piece of armor can hold the same number of runes and insignias. So again I say you won't farm gear for utility in guild wars 2 since you can make any max level piece of armor do the same thing as any other. You farm armor for their looks.
Well, they changed gear restrictions in GW2. Any light-armored profession can wear any light-armored gear. Same goes for the other types (maybe there are some exceptions but generally, it's by armor type). I also do recollect ANet saying that instead of tiers of gear, they'd be about the same "power" just with different stats, which does make sense since the armor is not class restricted any longer.
Its all just semantics, I really dont want to argue over something so minor lol, sorry Eanae, I was just making the point that you can have different stats on ur armor than someone else of the same class and its not fixed, even though the base armors are all the same, you can still have some variety when you customize, so technically not all is the same, also like Tonka said the weight classes are shared now so there will definitely be much more customization, A warrior and a guardian can have the same armor set but with different stats. In GW2 you do get armor drops with a variety of stats. It is a bit different, but yes I do agree it will be about looks for sure. Which is something I loved about GW1
