Guild Wars 2: Pre-Release Discussion

I'm not talking about extreme grinding, just hard to obtain gear from dungeons. Gear with nice stats that takes actual skill to obtain, not just farming gold then buying from an NPC. I did notice in one of the Yogcast videos they didn't get anything good out of the chest and one of the devs said it's a roll of the dice if you get something good. That's not the kind of difficulty I am referring to. I am all for 100% drop rates.

From that screen you posted Taki, that is what I'm referring to sorta, except it would be cool if you could get that extra +1,2,3, of X stat etc on gear from obtaining it from a difficult dungeon. I know that probably isn't going to be the case, but seeing increased magic find on that example rune does have me curious as to what randomized stats gear can have that drops. What is magic find going to even do? Maybe increase the chance of getting a special rare armor out of a chest. I dunno, but either way it will be better than GW1. The gear was the one thing on GW1 that made me sad, so little customization. You pretty much had your one or two builds for your playstyle.

No, no it would not in hell be cool for that extra +1 stat lol. Are you not tired of the stat game? I am! I want people to look at my character and go damn that whatever profession is sick, because of how I play and how I look, not cus of some numbers on my gear, equal gear for everyone means my performance matters more than ever. BTW you do get random drops from enemies and chests in the dungeons, so you do have that cool moment of oh cool a rare weapon dropped for me, but there is a 100% token that you trade in for a specific dungeon skin.

When it comes to build since we are not locked into a particular roles anymore, I am very sure there will be much more options for gear sets for different encounters, grouping, Bosses, depending on how you play, needing more conditions, support, interrupts etc etc, and how you coordinate with your party, and who is concentrating on what, at any point in time.

Hey btw remember when we did salvage and you unlocked the full usukane monk to tank the chariot at the end and the other monk remained gimp cus his gear was not up to par? LOL screw the stat game. I was the full usu monk btw

I'm fine with being able to transfer stats from good armor to another skinned armor. I'm mainly just looking for a reason to do dungeons outside of just looks. I'm kind of a stat whore, unfortunately.

It started out that I asked if an image posted was fan made or not and this fellow replies "obviously it is blah blah" to which I thank him for answering in a non-patronizing tone. I've never seen My Little Pony (though I did consider that theme for my daughter's upcoming birthday party).

Using "proper" grammar is not for relaxed social places. Do you go onto a game and talk like this? 5% of people do but the other 95 percent do not. It does not mean you have to start 2 tlk lyk dis but it does mean that using your or you're is not a BIG difference and people should not have a problem with it.

If gw1 is any implication, drop rates are more comparable to the ffxi model on dungeon goodies than a WoW model. Who knows if they changed that philosophy.

Thats very untrue. Look at the vids drops from mobs were frequent to the point of having to clear inventory. Plus the token drop which gives u the cool dungeon armor is 100% on clear. Nothing like Ff also everyone has their own loot table, you don't even see others drops like gw1

The recent ones about the traits/respeccing/fees are so horrible. Probably one of my biggest complaints about GW2 is that they will be playing it too. What's sad is they are the most vocal...I really hope ANet doesn't cave to pressure and they just trust their vision.
