Allow me to clarify, since your response confuses me and makes me think my post was unclear. Buying something to reduce time investment is not an advantage. Buying better gear is. Do you see better gear? No? Then you are not buying an advantage.

I misunderstood the post. Re-read it and makes sense now. My bad.
No problem, I didn't word it so well.
Agreed. Nothing that literally makes your character more powerful. Cannot be pay to win. Whiners gonna whine.
If those are the true items, I'm rather happy with 'em. No paying to win, and it's completely aesthetic. But dammit, now I want to transmute good armor stats into pirate armor.
None too happy about the Megaphone, hopefully the world chat is in it's own little bubble and doesn't pop up in the middle of my screen. I think the mystic chest thing in hilarious. TF2, anyone?
I hope there will be plenty of two piece armor sets (chest/legs). I don't want to pay extra for less visible things like boots/gloves and I tend to hide my helm.
Alt, if you want to PM me some info I would <3 you very much. curious about your initial thoughts. And yes, PM's are ok since they are hidden to all public but the super mods of BG and its impossible to search for em
Looks like generic shop stuff to me. I don't see an issue with any of the items.
I'm not digging the karma boost but everything else is fine.
I agree on both sides. it's more like the "slippery slope" assessment. The XP boost you can buy from the shop may just be glorified rest xp, which, if you extensively purchase, will prolly cost you a decent amount to always have it active. Either way its kinda crossing the line between in-game advantage and being a little more than cosmetic.
On the one hand it will let you level faster than others, but, on the other hand, leveling faster doesn't equate to much in the long run.
Are they offering actual karma boosts in the cash shop?
Good for you.
edit: @gogglehead
Actually, there will be a difference between levels even in scaled situations. I don't know this first-hand as I haven't played but this was in a few different videos.
Only difference comes from gear and skills.
Yeah. In WvW, someone who is a higher level has better gear, traits, and skills unlocked. That said, a 50% off mob kills alone is not huge, seeing as how it looks like a bulk of the exp comes from events. And any advantage they might have, while marginal, is fleeting. They would have gotten to that level after a little bit of extra effort anyway.
I do not care if anyone uses these. More money for ANet. But no way would I pay money for it. Such a waste. Especially in a game where levels mean so little.
Yes but anyone can be a higher level if they play the game more too. If someone doesn't get the 3 day head start do you complain about unfair advantages? To be honest it sounds like you're complaining just to complain, and you don't actually understand a thing you just hear microtransactions and assume it is the devil's work.
