Its not anymore of an advantage as "Recruit a Friend" has been in WoW since TBC. Its not anymore advantage then only playing your character with full rest xp. Especially since XP is not nearly as "valuable" in a world where every area will sidekick you down (or up in PvP). Yes it will mean something, but its very minor and will not negatively effect those of us that will not pay for the buff. The one that is a tad on the edge is not the XP. Or the Crafting XP, or even the Karma Boost. Its the Magic Find Boost, as this is extremely on the edge of paying for items. A 10% boost of finding magical items is a bit odd. That being said... I would like to point out that some of these boosts (if not all of them) are completely obtainable through Guild Perks.
As you see in the video from the last beta test:

You can see that a lot of these similar buffs are given from Guilds through using Guild Influence. There is an Cooking profession that will give "temporary" buffs as well. While we have little to no knowledge of what these buffs may be, I am quite positive we will see consumables that give exact or near exact versions of these buffs though time and effort of either crafting, farming or purchasing from a trading post.
In other words, do not get too excited about these "consumable" buffs from the cash shop. The question will be if these buffs stack with their in-game obtainable counterparts or if they are mutually exclusive. If Arena.net goes with their stated philosophy they will not stack. The real question is, how much is that extra 5% Kharma gain boost is worth to you? Toss in the fact that you can buy Guild Influence with gold from guild vendors and these buffs arent too hard to get.
Yet one person had the a good argument...
again, it's blatantly obvious that he doesn't care a whit about understanding the system and just wants to complain about microtransactions
Have they mentioned if things soulbind in game or if they are like in gw1 with customization that makes it exclusively usable by that character but still across your characters. Makes muling nice for sure.
There is soul binding
mules will suck if the only way to get the biggest bag space is via the store
that you can spend gold in by buying gems. how do people not get this?
how did my comment relate to buying gems? Buying bigger bag space is fine for a main or alt, just sucks to have to do it on a mule since you essentially don't play that character. Or are you saying others can buy the bags and list em on the AH? Didn't think about that, thought it only applied to gems
gold>gems>bags
vs
gold>bags
I don't see the problem, is the extra step that big of a deal?
yeah yeah, i didn't put two and two together.
Hmmm... *looks at time that was posted, looks at time now, then looks at something else (:D)* Interesting.Originally Posted by Tonka

EDIT: Or there was a lack of communication between departments.
