Guild Wars 2: Pre-Release Discussion

Warrior is the class i almost always enjoy playing most, it was good in GW but i'm spending time playing guardian this weekend because warrior seems like it will be simple enough to just jump into and be good at and there seems to be more involved with playing guardian.

Yeah, I was heavily leaning towards Ranger before. But after thinking on it a while, I'd rather not have to rely on pet AI to be fully effective. So I'll most likely be going Warrior now because I really like the style. Plus the idea of smashing things in the face with a big ass hammer excites me.

Ranger/archer is always my favorite class but i absolutely hate pets so I'll go another route.

Don't use the pet. They're pretty powerful without them anyways. Sword/Dagger Ranger is awesome. My fav setup is short bow + Dagger/sword.

the elementalist/sorcerer has always been my personal favorite, though I'll probably have one of each job like I did in GW, I'll just play a couple a lot more than others.

Fucking loved my WoW hunter, so I cant wait to relive the early days in the barrens, stalking in the bushes and tracking prey with my White Lion.

That defeats the purpose and reason that i like ranger/archer classes. I like the super long range, which short bow doesn't provide.

Make sure you keep that patcher updated! Last night I had a small update of patching 8 files and right now I opened the launcher and it is patching 58 files. For those that played the closed betas, you should know that ArenaNet can and has done several updates within a day.

Game is enjoyable so far. Standing in a tavern when some NPC asks the bartender what the strongest drink he has is. Bartender says "A punch in the face." Made me chuckle.
