As you may have heard, our next massive Beta Weekend Event kicks off on June 8 at Noon (Pacific). In advance of the Beta, ArenaNet President Mike O’Brien himself is jumping on Reddit for an Ask Me Anything session, starting at Noon (Pacific) on June 6 on the /r/gaming subreddit for three hours. Mike will also be joined by other Guild Wars 2 team members to answer your questions. Got a Guild Wars 2 question for Mike and the rest of the ArenaNet Team? Don’t be shy–they don’t call it Ask Me Anything for nothing!

I am absolutely furious you are holding the beta when I am on holiday I don’t suppose you have any plans for another beta some time after this one?

BG guild still going for this weekend? I got bugged out with the BG guild last beta weekend and it persisted through the stress test where I wouldn't have BG on my guild list but people could see me offline in the guild members list and I couldn't get kicked. Hoping whatever the problem was got fixed (i did send in a bug report though). Either way I'm probably gonna end up playing a different class this time around.

Walk with a box of tissues, lol but seriously just take your time and take it in, don't rush.

Actually, exploring is a very viable way to play the game, especially if you stop from time to time to do stuff. You get XP, and a decent amount, for discovering new locations. Isn't there eventually going to be a reward for unlocking all points on a map? Don't feel like you need to do everything at every spot on the map; do some stuff and move on.

In the main city for whatever race you start as, you can find a big teleport gate to a central hub city, which will then take you to any of the other starter cities -- explore them, too! Go for Skill Challenges, so you can unlock new skills to try -- very important.

You can also go to the PvP lobby, where you'll have a level 80 character with all skills unlocked; you can mess around with abilities, builds, traits, and such there, to get a feel for what things do before you buy them. However, it's not a very good place for actually learning how to use them.

I've always been of the mind that beta weekends are for finding the right class/race combos and styles you want to play with so you can get right into the action when the game officially launches.
