Guild Wars 2: Pre-Release Discussion

after a short attempt to finally beat my next story mission on my thf lvl 10, I gave up and went to WvW for the first time ever. wow, that's even more fun! I think I'll spent the entire next beta weekend in there to learn more about the mechanics and the maps. performance wise, it was better. I still got lag occasionally, but it seemed like a server and not a client problem anymore. had epic battles with 70+ players, nonstop incoming flying stuff like arrows and exploding cows and 0 lag @ i7 930, 6gb ram, hd 4890 2gb.

My FPS in the first weekend was awful, in the second weekend and this stress test its been pretty decent but not amazing, hopefully it'll take another jump in the third weekend, as I guess thats when we'll see more large scale changes again.

I don't have a super rig or anything but it's definitely not low end. It seemed like the game was running better for me last bwe than during this test and I also had an issue where the quest/event tracker display seemed off. The title bar of the event was over lapping (just a little bit) the text description for the event.

I hope they add the other 2 races, but at the same time I won't mind if they don't. Keep stuff new for release. What I do hope for is; stop with the CPU only thingy.

Since the next one is the final beta weekend, I guess I will take the time to perfect my 2 characters (customization) and save it.

Stoked about the engi changes, as that mine change sounds much better than the slow and clunky mine kit. That said, some of the utility moves, like rocket boots, are absolutely hilarious.
