Eactly there are 5 starter areas, with so much content that you can easily go experience, that give xp skillpoints and karma, why just concentrate on one only.

They added another option for exploring called "vistas" that work similar to points of interest. That could possibly help a bit with the exp gaps people were experiencing.

I think maybe those people have some aversion to doing random Dynamic Events they've done before. While exploring alot I did all the Renown hearts but at the same time if I was planning to run to 1, and got a notification for a DE on the way, I did it. Which sometimes lead to having to do the entire chain, but I never skipped a DE since I was having fun. With teleports becoming unavailable due to DE progress this happened alot if I wanted to go somewhere. On top of doing WvWvW(which you can really do at any level) I only did the Charr starter zone and was able to enter the 2nd one at the right level with no issues. If I wanted to just straight grind I would probably need to hit up one of the other starter zones but considering I was trying to experience everything I could in BWE2 I didn't actually have issues going from zone to zone as long as I PvP'd along the way. And either way I wouldn't have needed to grind much in the other zone if I had to go there because I wasn't interested in doing PvP for whatever reason.

That's the best looking race I've seen in any video game ever. Holy shit.

I will probably just make a bunch of Sylvari and Asuras in character creator but will most likely stick with my Char Guardian and save the rest for pre-launch.

quick question for those already in the beta that may have been covered in this board already (sorry if so) - any rough estimate for the size of the client fully installed right now? trying to figure out if i should clear out SSD space for the next beta or not. thanks.

edit: sweet jesus, just ran the installer and it wants 17GB. going to HDD for now!

Yeah, expect that to go up to probably 20gb or more before the beta weekend as they're adding the Sylvari and Asura races. Probably will be around 25gb for launch.

It's supposed to be around 40gb for launch. Keep in mind even w/Asura and sylvari that's still less than 1/2 of the game we have available for BW3

Did they say that anywhere? Not doubting you, but for system requirements they say 25gb.

Oh then that's prolly correct. I remember a while ago hearing the game would be around 40gb. But I'm sure after optimization and stuff that changed

(From this interview with Colin Johansen at GuildWars2Hub.com)

Made me lol, figured I'd share it here.

Lewis B: How has the feedback from the beta weekends impacted Guild Wars 2’s development? Has any feedback really surprised you and the team and made you think, “Wow, we really have to change that now!” or were you already aware of many of the issues?

Colin: Sometimes we get feedback for which the amount of work required to fix it just isn’t worthwhile, but we’ll at least embrace and poke fun at it. For example, some of the crop sprinklers in the human lands are located in square crop fields, but the sprinklers only spray in a circular pattern. Ian Yonika, one of our insanely talented animators, pointed this out at one point. We were past the point where it was worth the amount of time it would take to change it, and it’s a pretty tiny detail, so rather than change the game, we added “Farmer Ian” to the game. If you talk to Farmer Ian, you’ll notice his conversation very closely resembles the post Ian left in our developer forums about why the sprinklers don’t make sense. Thanks, Ian!
