Never felt like I was skating. Never thought to look for it and have never noticed it. Guess it can't be too bad.

Having played since press beta 1, I was unaware that this was even a complaint. What a joke lol
ArenaNet strikes again... proving that they are one of the most passionate devs around.
The backstory behind the new "Sanctum of Rall" server that may seem foreign to GW vets.

There are no words to describe this wonderful act of kindness.
I just finished reading that. It's amazing.
Old man was probably a ganker.
Big props to them for that; awesome.
It's definitely not a huge deal, but it's something easily noticed on the outside. I was showing my brother and a friend the Sylvari videos, first reaction was "wow" but quickly after a few minutes, they also commented on the running animation being floaty and characters lacking weight when they run. A game this pretty makes the oldschool animation/physics look out-of-place. If it's a necessary cutback to keep the combat fluid, then I'll gladly curb my OCD for this game.
What exactly does oldschool animation and physics mean? lol not trying to be difficult but, I really never heard that term in any of my animation studies =/. In my opinion the game has some of the most technically effective animations in any mmo to date. From great use of weight behind strikes, extravagant movements making skills looks amazing, asura movements are absolutely brilliant. I mean some of the most brilliantly animated features were done using old school cel animation. Yes I am being anal but its something close to home. Maybe breast physics and highly sexualized gyrations is needed to help mask crappy animations? Works well for TERA![]()
I kid I kid lol
Please stop Gurufying our threads with really insignificant crap seriously, like celeras said its such a joke, or make a complaint thread if you must.
While Tera's combat is similar one of the huge differences is the "animation lock" that Tera has. Its what took me more time to get used to in Tera than anything else. You start an attack and the animation HAS to continue to its fruition before you can do something else. Its much better than it was in my early KTera experience, but its still there. The only classes that can cut animations are the tanking classes all others have to complete the skill and its animation. This is part of the reason why GW2 feels "skatey". Because they allow you to react in real time to the world. Meaning when you switch directions while doing something else, it can often lead to a movement without correct animation feeling. It does feel a little "old school", but it is not remotely as bad as people make it out as.
Same here, and one of the major complaints by the press was the "skatey" feeling. Since that beta, they have made a HUGE deal about their attempt to minimize the feeling. Personally, I do not really feel it at all. I do have moments where it can feel like I don't weigh as much as I should, but its not the same "skatey" feeling they are talking about in my opinion.
1 more day til we get to play again and hopefully see some gameplay tweaks. I really want to see all those necromancer changes they promised after BWE2. Not to mention the better Ranger pet control/ai.
really cool story about the Sanctum of Rall, thanks for posting that
Why is it not Friday yet

Short interview with Jonathan Sharp on PvP and balance: http://www.guildwarsinsider.com/inte...an-chap-sharp/
Best. Game. Ever.As you rank up in PvP, you will be able to unlock different levels of Finishing Moves, based on your PvP rank. Every 10 ranks you will unlock a new type of Finishing Move and a new rank name.
- Ranks 1-9: Rabbit
- Ranks 10-19: Deer
- Ranks 20-29: Dolyak
- Cow – This is something for fun! J You can buy these in the Gem Store and finish people with a cow. No, I’m not joking.
Well, Rift does free transfers, but it doesn't exactly help lower population shards. It's kind of a catch 22 since if you're looking for a guild to do stuff in, you'd best arrange something beforehand, otherwise you risk hopping to a world with fewer zone events going on (and succeeding) due to diminished populations, meaning lesser general progress at a slower rate.
Honestly, I tend to prefer lesser populated servers, but that's only if I can get away with playing how I like to, or am only able to with a shifting schedule and demanding family life.
