Some sort of payment for server transfer is mandatory for RvR mmos imo. Otherwise you just get people jumping ship constantly to the best ranked servers.

I like how every day this week there has been an update of some kind to download. Not just sitting on a build and actually making things better up to the day of is great.^^

I started reading that "Ghosts of Ascalon" ebook... it's not a terrible waste of $3.99 if you're looking to kill some time between now and launch. Some of the backstory is interesting to read and leads right into the world events of GW2 supposedly, although the characters' behaviors are stereotypical of their given race to an almost retarded level. The saving grace of the book is that it's set in the guild wars world, which essentially means, what? Shitty fan-fiction? Idk. I thought briefly about recommending it but something is holding me back. It got very good reviews though.

The books are considered canon, everything ties in with the lore of GW1 and GW2. The book brings you up to speed with major events that happened in GW1 as well. GoA's story was ok if you like GW, but just don't expect a great literary work. The second book is very badly written (different author), but does introduce you to the main NPC characters of GW2 (Rytlock et al). Third book is not out yet, but in the works.

Not only that but I noticed the auto-start loads even before the patch is done downloading. Will be nice to have to log off for maintenance anymore.

In GW1 when they had a patch you would get a message asking you to log off at your next opportunity and download the new patch. Love the way that is handled by them.

no client side performance issues here either with everything at max, but the server (elona's reach) loads stuff with a delay.

Anybody unable to save their graphic settings under the options? It resets everytime I load the game... which is super annoying because of it always going back to fullscreen mode

man, 1hr of GW2 feels like 1 day of Tera... Even my loathe of the kb/mouse for MMO can't hold back the feel

Been playing the Beta for like an hour.

Although I am in absolute love with this title and I will definitely buy it, right now I feel well...I don't really feel that excited to play it. Maybe it's just the mood I am in today or maybe it's because its a beta I dunno, nevertheless It's a fucking awesome game and I am definitely all over it. At least this beta helped me to confirm my race/class.

I got all the questing I wanted out of it. Now I'm just looking for patch notes so I can see how they handled my engineer fixes and then its RvRvR.

Game is wicked smooth though, even amidst 500+ in the same zone trying to kill the same shit. This bodes well for PVP!

Yeah, I'm super impressed with the optimization, hordes of people doing the quests and still very playable.
