fuckin hunger games LOL
Hunger Royale, lol im dying from hunger . . .
Man it amazes me how easily they can patch in these little events just for beta, imagine whats possible when the game goes live.
Would've been more fun if the map was smaller. Hilarious idea though.
agreed. though I look forward to the random crap like this they do after launch
Their april fools day events were legendary in gw1. I can only imagine what to expect in 2.
Hahaha, my gold team was dropping like flies but our single player left duked it out for 10minutes. Green fell fist than we did lol.
Hunger Games event was interesting; I could see that being another PvP event that they add into the game. It needs a much smaller map and more resources though; at the end, I was all by myself, with only a couple of bot helpers, and didn't see anyone for 10+ minutes, near the end. I had to run all over creation, for rations, which seemed to be the only thing to do since the map was so huge and players too few.
Loved the hunger games! Just wish there would have been some sort of fan fair or something when the event was over. They definitely have proven that they can think and do these events quickly. I remember Trion Worlds saying "oh we can design new Rifts quickly" ... but Rifts were shit... Dynamic World Events are actually here to stay in Guild Wars 2 and with the last 4 BWE's they have proven they can make end events that are from every level of difficulty to easy, to silly to fun. The Inquest event was fricking rough. People were naked because they didnt want to run and repair after they lost all their armor. The Rabid Rabbits event was just silly fun. There is something fun about getting your face eaten by a white fluffy bunny. The Crystal Dragon event was just down right awesome. A new take on Zombies that we can only hope to see a streamlined version sometime in live. Now Hunger Royale... I certainly hope that next year on July 23rd we see the 2nd Annual Hunger Royale event happen in another part of the world. Now that would be fricking awesome.
Now we wait that long 33 days til we can get our hands on the real thing!
So beta weekend was a blast. First time I got to play it and I liked what I saw. First time in a while that I've lost track of time while playing an MMO. On the other hand, I think it still needs some work. Once I started trying other jobs I found myself losing momentum.
After completing the available personal story on my human guardian i tried out some other stuff. Necro seems fun as does Theif. Didnt try any other jobs though due to the joy of migraines.
Everything i did was fun, even going back to the 1-15 area was fun due to the level synch mechanic lowering your level to a point where you were strong vs most of the enemies.
Gathering seemed pretty straight forward. Crafting also has its uses even if you dont plan on selling stuff to make money off the trading post.
Grapically the game looks great and runs great. The only issues i had were some clipping while in town.
The beta weekend left me with a good idea of what the game is, but with a lot to learn and wanting more.
Engineer is pretty balla, but I gotta say that all these classes (especially mesmer) getting all of these teleports, clones and invisible moves when playing as an engineer are a pain in the ass. My turrents don't know where to hit, I don't know where to hit, and the only real thing I can do is drop a bunch of sticky mines around my feet in case someone is trying to sneak up, or get a net shot ready in case someone is trying to run.
I don't know how the fuck you fight a mesmer 1v1, alone. I just don't get it. No matter who or what you shoot, they end up being fake, while the real person is halfway across the map picking flowers or something.
ok, so wheres the best place to read up on all everything about gw2 before launch? official pages or some kinda wiki? not just glancing information but every single piece of tidbit there is. I want everything!
wiki.guildwars2.com probably the best place to get basic info atm, guru has a few people who know what they're talking about but mostly its a massive flamewar.
Looking back on my time this weekend, I'm really annoyed with what's be come a pretty common trend in MMOs: human animations looking stiff and boring. I'm pretty alright with my male human run and attack animations, but my god, the female human's run is so. fucking. stiff. Its like you can tell that they programmed them before all other races. Playing Sylvari this weekend just made going back to a human female to try out another class look that much worse.
Why is it that every game seems to do the exact same thing? I feel like XIV or possibly AOC had the best movement for regular chicks, and even those weren't spectacular. Its such a small issue, but its been driving me nuts because I see it in every game.
^ It's one of the reasons I dont play humans in pretty much any MMO I play nowadays. Humans get the shaft it seems, due to I guess the developers thinking "oh well it's fantasy, no one wants to be a human in make believe world!" or something. My human in GW2 looked pretty stiff, plastic and strange, TERA humans look like fish, WoW humans should be deleted from the game for how bad they look, etc etc.
I would say only FFXI/FFXIV had decent looking humans.
Human is boring. Fuck that shit.
