One that I would consistently use was on Guardian with a greatsword; drop your symbol then use the whirl, and you get an AoE condition removal. I rather like it. As much as I love scepter, sword, torch, and shield, I find that greatsword and staff are my go-to weapons for most situations.

Are payments down? I tried to pre-purchase today and I couldn't pay for it via Paypal or CC. And I got a call from BoAmerica saying there were two payments that went through but were fraud charges.

Also, had no idea that non-elite racial skills existed. Would explain why my asura thief and engi had some of the same utility skills..
Well walls only work with projectiles and leaps, while fields or circles work with any finishers. It's actually pretty intuitive. There are some skills which can be confusing though. There is one guardian skill that looks like a whirl, but it's actually a projectile, which is the skill that throws your sword or w/e at an enemy and allows you to pull them towards you. That one counts as projectile even though the guardian spins like it were a whirl.

edit: i actually might have gotten that mixed up

Only time it ever worked was if i was already very close to the player using it.
Like others have said, it really boils down to being observant and taking advantage of who you know is around you. Mind you, it is easier to combo knowledgeably and successfully. I did find that it was incredibly easy to "charge" through combo fields as a dual dagger elementalist and knowing which ground field does what will just come to you. I am not a huge PvPer but I did have a lot of fun dropping down flamewalls for other people and such to combo through. Projectiles are easiest to combo, but some of the cooler combo's involve Stealth and once again the shields.

At first I thought that most of the debuffs in the game were way too short, but I realize they are really trying to keep people active and do away with easy rotations and etc. It will be easier to appreciate it once we're able to run all the game's instances and see how dynamic it is first-hand in PTs.

Yup debuffs stack either in intensity or duration, which really creates a more active style of gameplay.

Coordination is the key. My roommate and I were easily able to keep combos flowing because we had communication. Once people start using pre-mades for everything they do, it'll be less of an issue.

Sorry hate to be the guy who brings WoW into the GW2 setting but:

Just saw a guy seriously say WoW has a higher skill ceiling than GW2... HAHA

People have different opinions about different MMOs? No way. Let's keep the clusterfuck of WoW hate out of the thread and keep it about Guild Wars 2 please.

Assuming you're referring to that one sentence comment made by someone with 12posts over a day ago. In which case: thanks for making me check this section again thinking there may have been a real post. That was totally worth saying.

Anyway, massively has a job/race poll up atm: http://t.co/YjbrlObL

For all the hate on Humans you guys were doing its not really even close.

Human is always the #1 picked race in all MMOs. Always.

I was a little off on my initial estimation as I underestimated the awesomeness of the Asura.

Yeah, I tend to steer clear of the cutesy or anthropomorphic types. Elves tend to vary depending on how they're depicted, but they're basically humans with pointy ears, so... Not surprised others might feel similarly.

Fuck no, do not want that many Asura players.

Play a charr then, they have awesome stories anyways. As for "not even close?" 27.7% human vs 24.7% asura. That's pretty close.

I hope they double the amount of faces and hairstyles, especially if you wish to create a human that looks like someone other than a Brad Pitt or Twilight look-alike lol

I bet they could design 10 different fades in a few hours, for example. They might be able to greatly increase Women's hairstyles by creating a slider for hair length. idk, sounds easy on paper lol

I wouldn't trust that poll to be truly indicative of the end result, anyway. I recall everyone and their brother saying they wanted to be "the bad guys" in Aion on boards and such, but Elyos still wound up outnumbering handily on most servers.

Not at launch. Once most of the hardcore players quit the balance lopsided quite a lot in favor of Elyos. I think "the bad guys" tend to be more popular among hardcore gamers, and "the pretty ones" more so among casuals who tend to stick around gamers longer than hardcores.
