^ That and their stress tests have been quite successfully thus far. Remember the stress tests are about testing server changes. Most notably in WvW where the current player caps are low enough to pretty much ensure that even the smaller servers will probably see full WvW for most of the 4 hours. Also interesting to note that while they have said 12-4 in the past, the tests have often started earlier and gone up to an hour longer than advertised.

Yup, I never got to even step foot into WvW, I can't wait to test run the classes and finalize my choice on what will be my main.

I'll be there this time, missed the BWE3 due to medical issues but this stress test starts 1 hour after my class, and is scheduled to end 1 hour before work, perfect for me

I'd be willing to bet that this is not going to be the last stress test and we probably won't see a wipe til the last possible moment before launch.

Greetings Heroes of Tyria,
We wanted to give you all an update on the Difficulty of BWE3, as it has been the topic of many conversations recently.
First of all, it is important to understand that the game is still in Beta and that we continue to balance on a daily basis. This said, and as usual, your feedback has proven invaluable. Following the weekend we drilled into our Event metrics, and discovered that the difficulty had indeed changed between BWE3 vs. BWE2. We moved ahead with a check on our core systems to find out if any global change/bug had incurred a generic adjustment to the balance of the game. Quickly we found this to be the case, and the issue has now been corrected.
We also wanted to take the time to mention, that we feel the overall pacing of the game is exactly where we want it. Specifically that we do not want the player to be in a constant state of overly challenging gameplay, and therefore the difficulty is now reflective of the balance found in BWE2, without a change in overall pacing.
Finally, we continue to balance both our creatures and our professions. Your feedback, once again has proven invaluable to us, and we ask that you continue to let us know what you think about the game, and keep posting your suggestions as we get ever closer to the release of Guild Wars 2.

I hope they increased the difficulty on the story missions. Only the battle at the well was a challenge for me as THF. As for DE, all of them were fairly casual-level difficulty. Defending the lumbermill waypoint kinda sucked with low numbers. There was a veteran mob on top a map discovery in the caves that boned everyone...that's all I can think of for Glenndale, I'm sure that Asuran fire elemental was the most obvious example lol

BWE3 was significantly easier, so if thats all you played and you think things should be harder you shouldn't even worry about it.

Other than two story fights as a Guardian I never had any real issues with difficulty. So I'd say it's at a good pace.

I tried WvW once. Didn't really get the hang of it and was easy to get killed. Then again I assume it's meant to be done in a group and not solo.

Damn right, there was shit in the first 3 beta's i played in that would just toast you. Doing the first few human stories in BWE3 was night and day over the rallyfest that was some of those encounters in BWE1.

I hope they go for an area just slightly south of where they were in BWE2. Certain enemy types just plain sucked (wolves fricking summoning their entire fricking pack was just over the top) in the earlier BWEs. I don't think the difficulty of BWE0-2 was wrong, I just think certain enemies needed to have some things tweaked a bit, and they said they were going to raise the levels mobs got certain abilities. I am just waiting to see what level they give mobs the ability to res each other, because we all know that is coming at some point.

Dunno if it was posted but a stress test is going on right now if you didn't get your fill from BWE3

There's now a checkbox on your Helmet and Shoulder piece on the Hero screen, so that you can quickly hide/unhide instead of having to right-click. It's little, but it's nice and convenient!

Anybody getting FPS issues? I have been able to run this at full settings every single stress test/BWE until this one, and now I can only run it at the lowest. What do?

I did notice a fps drop from BWE3. Get a pretty solid 30 fps at ultra settings, where before I was 60ish. Very playable and still very smooth but i do notice some dips.
