Noticed my main from BWE3 got corrupted sometime between then and now. Can't login with him, and the select screen shows him with 0% map completion.
Don't suppose there is any way to learn all the skills to test out classes (training ground of some sort?). Still debating between classes, but leaning towards ele atm
Edit: Elementalist tornado seems to do no damage... I turn into a tornado then sit next to someone as they attack me and die
another stress test tomorrow. 7-11 est.
Thank you for all your help in today’s Stress Test!
Good news for North Americans tomorrow:
We will be conducting a Stress Test on Friday, August 10 from 4:00 PM PACIFIC Time to 8:00 PM PACIFIC Time.
REMEMBER: We will be actively working on the game during the event, so you might experience connectivity problems or discover features that are not working as designed. Any issues you experience are a result of the rigorous conditions of the stress test, and are in no way representative of the state of the game at launch. By participating in this stress test, you’re helping us make Guild Wars 2 a better game. Thanks for your cooperation—we’ll see you in-game!

w00t! Maybe they will fix that horrible glow across my Sylvari's face by then.
I really like how they are actively working to make launch perfect. but their login servers still have issues at the very basic level when thousands of ppl are trying to login at once... though i wonder if that can be prevented since no launch has ever been able to remedy such issue.
I have full confidence that the game will be really great when launch hits in 2 weeks though. they are doing their utmost.
^ I agree. If its broke come launch (and it might be, who knows), it isn't because they didn't try everything out there.
I sorta disagree. BWE1 had login problems. BWE2-the stress test before today were all login problem free. Today's stress test has been the only time I've seen login issues since BWE1. Obviously the headstart will have a bit more people than most BWE/stress test but the fact that only 2/7 tests have had login problems is pretty good to me.
Anyone who has played the betas probably won't see any login issues during the headstart. I honestly don't see launch day being too big of a problem either.
I have a feeling they are actually stressing their servers, and had screwed up a setting. Once the servers came back up after their reboot I had absolutely no trouble with logins. I got a few random boots but that was to be expected with bug fixes. I even flat out crashed once. I don't think there will be much issues with launch and server/login issues.
While compared to BWE1 there have been no login issues, there have been many reports of issues by people throughout the tests. These issues have been minimized since CBT/BWE1 to a huge degree.

Anyone else just like me and wants to play the stress test just to get to play? My friends all think I am nuts, they aren't "beta people" and just want the game to launch already.
Stress tests are designed to stress the servers. That is all.
So who needs/has some inspirational thief videos?
Thief is still terrible in tournaments. There's no reason to bring one over a warrior. Right now sPvP is ridiculously broken with nothing but Guardians and Rangers wrecking everyone. Both of them are unkillable if traited properly.
I suppose it's fine for just random pugged sPvP since everyone is generally using terrible builds.
Thieves, and every other profession played by someone who knows what they want to do and how to do it, would beg to differ.
While I haven't tried SPvP yet myself, in WvWvW, it took 8 "invaders" to take down my level 23 Mesmer (scaled to 80, but without an elite or level 80 traits).
Please don't bring the "everyone is using x, it must be better" attitude to GW2. It's bad for the community, and more importantly, it won't last. ArenaNet will fine tune any real imbalance as the game goes on.
Edit: Here's a Thief video since it was requested. Google Video Search is your friend.
As always, I prefer unedited gameplay and I include that in my searches.![]()
I am about 80% leaning towards Thief myself. I like their weapon loadout and it looks like it would be a fun job to learn.
Guardian, when i tried in in BWE3, was just easy to play. The jobs that are easier to play will have more players for just that reason.
Id compare it to Street Figher 2 where a ton of people would play Guile because he was easy to play. Someone who figured out how to master Dhalsim though, maybe the toughest to play, could wreck stuff.
There's a lot of specs that aren't being utilized yet. Anybody that thinks this game is all figured out is insane.
