what about it looks mediocre? really? given the fact that there is no subscription plus the artistic direction blows anything out of the water that is out there and upcoming. and that includes TERA cus even though it looks great and plays great its still looks like the typical korean MMO in design, which I am not saying is bad. but its been done.

^are you blind? Sorry but in GW2 only environment looks semi decent. You posted that youtube video of the assassin chick and the small guy demonstrating skills couple pages back and the characters look and move like hell. Bunch of square faces and it seems like alot of "bioware syndrome" going on where all the characters have the vacant stare. TERA has the best graphics hands down and animations are incredibly fluid also.

I am far from blind. Tera's design from its characters to its environments does have a strong Korean feel. because it basically is a Korean made game. and there many korean MMOs out there. if you want to take that in a negative context thats up to you but it was not ment to be. I am very excited about TERA but ill wait for enmasse to release it here.

can you show me where u saw all of guildwars environments? dungeons and underwater gameplay areas?

I guess i just appreciate what they are doing in terms of the graphic feel wanting to give the concept art fantasy painting look to the game. also bear in mind what u see is not final and none of the graphics have been optimized.

its just funny trying to knock a game thats not even released, still in alpha, by comparing it to a game thats been out for a while already.

ohhh, man, I forgot about that 45-degree angle turn thing lol I remember seeing a video of someone riding a horse, it was really irking me with the abrupt paper mario turning. I thought it was the guy controlling it that caused it to do that at the time, oh well.

I can live with both game's graphics, they are equally awesome for me.

I'll never understand how a game of such content and magnitude will be able to fund itself.

By selling 10 million boxes.

With far less funding and far less marketing, Guild Wars 1 has sold over 6,500,000 copies worldwide as of August 2010 and continues to sell more. The game is also supported by aesthetic "cash shop" purchases such as costumes that alter the appearance of your character, change its name or physical features and so on. There is also, of course, other merchandise like t-shirts, award-winning novels (only 2 of which are finished and released at this time), a concept art book, posters and that kind of thing.

It's safe to say that Guild Wars 2 will sell more boxes than Guild Wars 1. They'll probably sell 1-2 million on day one if they hit all the major retailers worldwide and have a few well-produced commercials on television. Factoring in future real-world merchandise and aesthetic cash shop items that devoted fans can't seem to get enough of (some of us buy this crap because we're grateful for the lack of a subscription fee), I'm sure Guild Wars 2 will be well-supported financially. It doesn't hurt to have Korea's #1 game publisher at your back, either, whatever that's worth.

Didn't know about the realm vs. realm PvP, while I'm not a huge fan of the realm system as opposed to one world with various districts, I very much do like having some sort of community on a realm that you can't find elsewhere. I'm really looking forward to the PvP for realms, I really hope there's a lot of realm community based almost entirely on making sure your realm is one of the best from week to week. The more I hear about this game the more awesome I think it will be.

I don't think it'll be huge right from the get go (1-2 million first day is a bit high if you ask me, though maybe not, I could see 1million the first few days) I think like GW1 it'll continue to get bigger as time goes on, rather than people buy it first day then nothing really from there. I think it'll be pretty awesome all around, casuals/pro/pvpers etc.. all seem to have some sort of incentive to play the game whereas with other MMOs I feel like they didn't start out knowing there would be so many different styles of play and they weren't/didn't plan for them. I hope with GW2 there's a nice bit of content for everyone, which it looks like it is.

Also the weapon system looks boss, can't wait to really try out some GW2 if they do an open beta before they release.
