Looks like you can pick it up here for around $48. Seems to be some discussion about whether you get the headstart or not from this company. I assume you would as long as you got your key in time and registered it to your account.

I believe (heard from a friend) that orders made on or after Aug 8 do not get the headstart. I haven't seen this anywhere, but I haven't really looked for it either. Maybe someone else can confirm.

that's 100% not true at least if you purchase through GW2 site.

I'm not sure who or what you mean by "according to their client," while you ask where to download the beta client at the end of your post... so running on a guess and making some general statements here:

· Client software downloads have been available since April 10th.
· If you didn't get a code for pre-purchasing, contact the seller/retailer.
· If they can't (or won't) provide you with a working registration code for the game, get a refund immediately.
· If you did get a code, go to http://register.guildwars2.com and verify that it works. If it doesn't, get a refund.
· If you already registered a code, you can download the client via http://account.guildwars2.com using the login name and password you created when you registered the code.

I wish you good luck, and I hope you don't need it. Whatever seller/retailer you used wouldn't be the first to issue a fraudulent Guild Wars 2 sale.

Edit: Guessing you purchased from GreenmanGaming.com, which I'm told is fairly reputable. However...

This is NOT TRUE:
· "Purchases on or after August 8th will not include the 3 day early access or access to beta weekends!"

...and this is absurd, as codes can and should be sent instantly:
· "Activation keys will be sent out in time for the release date of 28th August 2012!"

Based on those two weird "disclaimers" alone, I'd spend the extra $12 and buy it from ArenaNet directly.

Edit 2: Apparently, according to a post on GMG's forums, the issue with 3 day early access disclaimer is there because GMG is without any more keys to send out until the 28th. They fail to clearly state this. Buying the game from GMG means you are getting a code at or after launch, and not pre-purchasing by any meaning of the word.

I think Rubi posted something that alluded to there may possibly be a cut off, but they have NOT announced anything official. To that regard, you need to purchase from an official retailer to get headstart. So if your retailer is not on this list, you won't be getting headstart regardless of any cutoff date.

Green Man Gaming is on that list, and a few of my friends took advantage of the initial version of that 20% off deal before BWE3. So like Dragir said, if you do not get a code that allows you to register on the register.guildwars2.com website then, demand a refund.

I would say that it will be cool. I would say that knowing Anet the item they get will also be given out elsewhere. They are not going to pull a Blizzard and give away Tyreal Mini's only at Gamescon (at least I would hope not.) People need to chill out and wait for their chance at free shit. Anet will be elsewhere and they will be giving away free game items there too.
