I didn't think underwater combat of all things was going to get me anymore excited for this game...but it has.

It was kinda annoying how all he wanted to do was show off a specific part of the game and he kept getting aggro from every direction. This isn't the first demonstration they've shown where its happened either, also not the first one where he died from it.

I thought it pretty awesome to see everything working at this point. including enemy AI etc, makes me hope for a release date soon. Real unscripted gameplay is nice to have. I also like the fact that everything they have shown hasn't had them doing the GOD mode thing, which I have not seen them ever do for any game play being shown.

Oh no question. And yet, in FFXIV, it's still impossible to kick someone out of your Linkshell unless they are online and right next to you. ArenaNet > the behemoth that is SE. B|

Anything > SE. And i didn't know that about kicking people in FF14, thats truly awful.

So is there any indication of where Arenanet is in development? I know they keep saying "when its done" but thats pretty damn vague.

Only thing we know is that beta will be the second half of this year. Also, ArenaNet has said that open beta will be very short and release is supposed to follow shortly thereafter. So if it's not out for the holidays this year, I'm betting on early next year.

and then didn't they also say beta wouldn't be a traditional MMO beta, and be more of what console players consider beta? I mean, if thats the case, then this year is likely, if not January.

Such a sucker for these kinds of cutscenes, loved them in the Witcher 2 as well. Simple, effective, and I happen to like the style.

This is looking so good, going to be a heavyweight bout between this and D3 in the coming year for me. I can feel it.
