It was just a mini game lol, fun but yea, they always had lots of that kinda thing. like snow ball fights etc.

Also the weapon sets have been already established, since in gw2 its shared among classes, if they introduce a h2h weapon, they will have to add it to other classes as well. don't think that's gonna happen at this point, but yea I would kill for a h2h type class, maybe one that can use staff, dagger for throwing. I am sure expansions will bring new classes or weapons even races, would be very cool.

    Interview with Colin Johanson
    Full interview: http://www.necrobator.com/features/i...olin-johanson/
NecroBator: Speaking of combat roles, let’s talk about one of my new favorite subjects: necro tanking. What kind of build would you use to fulfill that role in combat as a necro?

Colin: So the real front lines guy, in my mind, is Axe and Warhorn. This is the true melee, holding down the front as a necromancer. You can do it with just about any of the weapon sets to be honest, but you get up there and get your bone minions rolling and your flesh wurm helping to hold the front line.

Then you’ve got your Wail of Doom and this just bleeds, dazes, poisons and weakens everybody around you. And then you’ve got Locust Swarm, and everybody around you, you’re stealing life from them also. Then you’ve got Unholy Feast that cripples and damages everybody around you.

So you run in and you pop your Unholy Feast and everybody is crippled and they’re not getting away from you, and then you can use the other two skills and just start draining life like crazy on everyone around you, and your minions are right in there tearing them apart.

All of the sudden you’re right up there on the front line. Then you go into Death Shroud and do Life Transfer and start stealing life from everybody around you again.

So it makes you a brutal front line character. Warhorn as the off-hand is kind of the key to that, and the axe is a great main hand weapon. You can kind of do it with anything, but the axe is nice because you’ve got Unholy Feast on skill 3, so you’ve got another point-blank AoE skill available to you.

And that’s just one of those situations where this class just plays completely differently with some different weapon sets. Even when it’s up close doing something it feels like a necromancer regardless because of all the life stealing and the pets you’ve got up there and everything.

Not sure if this has been posted yet. But came across this skill builder: http://gw2.luna-atra.fr/skills_tool/?lang=en

Obviously the games not even in beta yet, so a lot of those skills can change, but it kind gives you a good idea of what to expect.

    http://www.arena.net/blog/get-ready-for-gamescom

With San Diego Comic Con now behind us, we shift our focus across the Atlantic to gamescom, Europe’s largest game expo. This annual celebration of games and entertainment takes over Cologne once again from August 17-21, and we’re going to be there in full force – and we’re bringing a shiny new GW2 demo with us!

The new demo will feature a ton of cool new content that we haven’t showcased before. “What exactly is in the gamescom demo, Martin?” I hear you say. Well, I’m glad you asked. Let me give you a high level overview of what you will be able to play at the NCsoft Booth (A11/B10, Hall 9.1).

Seven professions – Play all seven professions that we’ve revealed so far: engineer, thief, guardian, necromancer, ranger, warrior, and elementalist.

Charr starter experience – For the first time, you can forge your destiny as a member of the Iron, Ash, or Blood Legion in our charr starter area. You can also choose to play the human and norn starting experience as well.

Mid level demo – As always, we’ve prepared a higher level demo experience for players who want a challenge. Face powerful Orrian enemies on land, engage them in battle underwater and face off against a new boss.

Sylvari and asura – Did I mention that you’ll be playing sylvari and asura characters for this high level content? Yes, for the first time, players will be able to get their hands on these unique races – believe me, they are impressive!

Character appearance customization – Also for the first time, you’ll be able to play around with our character appearance customization feature and control the way your character looks.

PvP – Last but certainly not least, we’re premiering Guild Wars 2 Player vs Player (PvP) at gamescom! Swing by the ESL booth and head to the Guild Wars 2 area to get your exclusive hands-on PvP experience. Also check out our periodic exhibition matches that pit our valiant team of ArenaNet developers against the European guild BOON Control on the ESL center stage!

We hope that you are now as excited about gamescom as we are. If you can’t make it to gamescom this year, you might want to check out the latest issues of these magazines for more info: Buffed, PC Gamer UK, Canard PC, Gamereactor, PC Gameplay Benelux.

And don’t forget about our Costume Competition on Sunday, August 21!

    See you at the show!

Trying to get excited for SWTOR, but it's hard to be excited for something other than GW2 right now.

To save you all some headache (and ruined keyboards):

    - Sylvari week will be next week.
    - We will not reveal a new profession during gamescom or PAX Prime.
Next week we'll finally see the Sylvari redesign.

Lame@ no new profession. I was really hoping that would be 'the' reveal at gamescom. Oh well. Back to reading all the asinine posts in the D3 thread.
