LOL i was just about to post that vid. has some shark NM gameplay I havent seen before
It seemed like the movement speed in that necro vid was a little fast for the body animation. Something just seemed a bit off, was like gliding over the surface almost. Kind of reminded me of a fps game.
Hadn't really noticed it before but now that you've said something I see what you're talking about. Kind of like walking on a slippery floor. Could have something to do with the more action oriented combat system. I know it's like that in Dragon Nest as well where it looks like you're gliding across the ground when you move, though much more apparent than here.
Am sure that kinda stuff will be smoothed out before release.
8th Profession announced this week? It's more likely than you think!
SourceConcerning the system of inter-combos, can you tell me how many of these combos are already established in the game?
Ben Miller: Actually, it is also one aspect of the game that we are actively working right now. We have information about it arriving very, very, very, VERY soon. The example of physical projectiles passing through a wall of fire is the best known. Spells creating such zones can effect mostly be used in the same way by the players. But again, we will deliver more details on these combos soon.
Source15) There will be a lot more cross-profession combos. The reason so little have been shown is because they are waiting on the 8th profession/all the professions to be revealed before they show off all cross-combo professions
yup I take it the announcements will be around G-star or earlier.
sad panda, looks like nothing huge will be coming out of g-star
Eric Flannum
Eric FlannumSince you asked nicely There is not going to be any sort of beta related announcement on the 11th. There will be a blogpost going up that week but it is in no way beta related. Sorry for the confusion guys.
Thanks for catching that. No 8th profession reveal either guys... sorry to be the bearer of bad news. That reveal is still on track for this year but not the week of the 11th.
THIS GAME IS NEVER COMING OUT QQ![]()

Guild Wars 2's award-winning art director
illustrates cover of National Geographic

ArenaNet's Daniel Dociu has another high-profile project in addition to his work on Guild Wars 2: the cover of National Geographic. In this month's issue of the magazine, Dociu provides artwork to illustrate a "magical mystery treasure" of Anglo-Saxan origin that was recently found. Both the cover and the article piece show an era soldier with appropriate armor, clothing, and weapons.
Dociu currently holds the positions of both creative director and art director for Guild Wars 2. His skill and prestige certainly isn't hurting the game's profile any, as this achievement comes on top of the Exposé 9's Grand Master Award he won this past July.
The National Geographic issue is on news stands (or, to you whippersnappers, the "website") now.
I was wrong.
SourceTo explain the "very very very soon" comment a bit. That was Ben Miller speaking about cross profession combos. Now, Ben is very excited and passionate about what he does and tends to express himself in those sort of terms. Him saying very very very soon is a bit of his personality coming through. We understand of course that this creates some moments of confusion but it is a side effect of letting our players interact with our developers directly at shows. You have to take into account that you are dealing with a lot of different personalities and that what one person says is not directly equivalent to how you yourself may regard it. For example, Jon Peters may have added another 5 or so "very's" onto that statement whereas I probably would have said "sometime in the future". The alternative to letting our devs interact with our community is to only speak through a few select individuals who have both the proper temperament and training to be very clear and conservative with predictions. It's been a conscious decision on our part to have more interaction with our community and misunderstandings like this are one of the unfortunate consequences.
All of that being said, we'll be talking about cross profession combos "soon" and definitely before we release information about the final profession (Bucketmancer).
Bucketmancer lol
I am looking forward to that cross-profession combos info.
They changed their schedule, is all. They can do that.
Probably because it's not ready yet. And we know they're fussy about that.
Bucketmancer better be epic.
