The jerseys thing's being denied.

WTF, people actually thought 3 jerseys hanging on the wall was some secret release date code?
thank god we finally have some info. One more month won't be bad at all, especially if we get new footage in February.
Can anyone describe what the endgame PvE content of GW2 is supposed to be like? From what I've read you get max stat gear pretty easy, so I just wanted to know what it is that you strive for in the endgame other than just beating all the content.
Titles, and Cool looking gear, even though u get max stat gear easily, its more about the look you want. Some looks are harder to obtain than others. Because of how easily it is to swap builds you will have multiple gear sets also. This should keep you very busy for a while. Dungeons are not going to be easy either. Also because of how the gear system is were you can mix and match, you might like a specific piece of unique gear from a lower level dungeon and would actually want to go back and redo them, since you can in fact max stat any piece of gear you want. Also collecting of higher level elite skills and traits require some work to unlock.
Cool, thanks for the info. It'll be weird adjusting but I don't mind, I've been wanting to play a well done MMO that's different from everything else out there.
So long as they don't rush it. Rushing an MMO that isn't fully polished can and will destroy a game... And the concept of this game is way too good to just throw away on stupid bugs.
With the way they have publicly stated they wish to do their beta "old school" this does not prevent release in late April/May either. The trick here is the question why you would have a very public "media member only" beta before you are offering a wide/public beta. This just shouts that the game is basically completely done. I may be just trying to make myself feel better by tricking myself into believing that we could see a release before June. Mostly because I need something to play that is not WoW.
some clarification from Martin
With this I can say hopefully release before summer.
Ok, to clarify a couple of points:
We purposely didn’t use the term “Open Beta”, we mentioned Beta Events. To some people Open Beta means unlimited access to the game and everybody on the interwebs can play it. This is not what we will do.
We will do Beta Weekend Events. Those of you who played Guild Wars might already be familiar with the concept. It means that many of you (like the blogpost says) will get a chance to participate in specific Events, but access won’t be unlimited – there will be some kind of selection criteria and the beta period will usually start on a Friday and end on the following Sunday.
I hope this helps.
With that it would sound more likely they are much closer than we can see. If they are going to do a series of "Beta Weekends" throughout Feb to mid-April and no wide "release" 24/7 type beta then we can definitely see another 10-12 weekends being enough for them to put the final polish before launch.
Sounds a lot like Rift's weekends leading up to launch. Those were... really good times. I'm starting to get hyped.
I also think it is a good thing that they are not letting the game be totally accessible during public beta. So there will still be lots of surprises on launch.
As long as I get more media to hold me over shortly I'll be happy.
so what's a hardcore raiding gamer have to do in the game?
I think they're trying to abolish that entire concept. I'm personally getting tired of it myself to be honest.
The whole game will basically be a "raiding" experience with the dynamic events.
