Looking at those pvp zones renews the reality that my comp is gonna run this game for shit. XD
GW2 can do no wrong in my eyes, but it really annoys me when companies release screenshots on such low settings. At least enable AA -.-. Scholar PvP armor:

So in this game there is only a base set of armor and the only thing you can upgrade is your toon cosmetically?
No. There are different sets of armors with different gear stats. You can use transmutation stones though to take the look from one piece of gear to overwrite the appearance of the piece of gear with the stats you like though. I do believe there will be some purely aesthetic pieces of armor available through things like the online store or mini-games.
Basically, there won't be tiers of gear where the next set of gear blows all the other stuff out of the water.
GWinsider posted a few new pvp screens, note they actually listened to people complain about the red outline for targeting and now you can see a circle used in these screens. The charr in the 3rd shot looks pretty badass

I'm noticing a different targeting effect here...the red ring on the ground instead of the outter glow. I'm hoping that's an option across the whole game.![]()
Maybe my opinion will change once I play but i'm a fan of the outline effect. I really hope they keep it an option in game to turn it back on.
I think the class I'm going to play is mesmer. Seems so abusive with multiple cap points and the teleporting shenanigans.
Also one of you mentioned having different stats. Will it be like I can set my haste/attack/crit/armor pen/hit stats(just pulling stats outta my ass so I'm not sure if these are the ones) to my personal tastes and play style but still having the same item budget as another person who did something different? If so that would be awesome. If not then someone explain what you mean by that.
Also those first few pics /demtits.jpg
Yeah i find that target circles tend to get lost in effects easily. I liked the outline.
No idea how stat allocation will work on gear. You only have 4 though; Power (Attack), Precision (Crit), Toughness (Armor), and Vitality (Health). Each time you level you get a flat amount of points in each stat and an extra amount that you can choose to invest however you like. Also, "Respeccing attributes will of course be very easy to do."
Ok, so there i was, rocking out to some GW2 soundtrack music like this:
Knowing that Jeremy Soule is a goddamn super hero when it comes to video game music, I was thinking how hes the goddamn Nobuo Uemetsu of the western market. Then I took a gander at his wikipedia page and I'm all like:
When I see this:
The influence has been noted by critics, who have termed Soule "the John Williams of video game music". Among video game music influences, he has cited Square for providing him "with the education for what quality means to this business" and Nobuo Uematsu in particular. His favorite style of music to listen to is British pop and rock music, while his favorite video games are the ones that he has written scores to, especially the ones made by Chris Taylor, though one of his all-time favorites is The Legend of Zelda. He has said that the games he would most like to work on that he has not already are ones by Shigeru Miyamoto, a Final Fantasy game, and a Metroid game.[8]
Mind. Fucking. Blown.
one of my faves
One of my girl friends saw the engineer Asura and now won't shut up about it.
I think I want to make one too :3
