Exactly, but they said the same exact thing today lol and everywhere is blowing up like its new, so yea no news basically.
To anybody who enjoyed TotalBiscuit's GW2 videos from last year, he got an invite to the press beta this weekend. He won't be home to play it though, but he'll be having his lackeys play for him and will record commentary on the video footage they get starting Monday. I'm personally happy to hear he got into the press beta as he's got a very objective and accurate opinion on games and the game industry in general. Also his videos from last year were awesome.
I know this is old but for anyone who have just started following its great. This was one of the very first videos that got me totally hooked.

Conference Call Highlights, GW2 Console Version Confirmed
http://www.guildwarsinsider.com/conf...ion-confirmed/
It's been posted just one page back =/
and console version been known about for 2 years now.
Let me reiterate what i said before: The "news" about console is actually no news: http://www.guildwars2guru.com/forum/...1&postcount=79 ~MK
Just curious of who might also be playing GW2 from the old XI server. What class is everyone leaning toward? I'm thinking guardian but I'm afraid it'll become the "stand back and protect us" guy with no serious amount of damage output. That being said, I usually play a Warrior after that but thinking more on Thief.
The one thing bugging me about that release timing part is the whole "taking the seasonality factor into release timing for gw2" It means that even though the game could be ready by summer they might not launch till fall, since that's the best time to launch.
I'd like to think arenanet would let us play in like some kind of semi-permanent OB state if it came down to that. These investor calls are always so vague though and usually explain a worst-case scenario situation anyway. If the March/April tests raise a lot of red flags, and they end up having to spend the summer fixing them then I could see them moving launch way back to august/september. Fortunately it doesn't sound like thats the case, since they keep stating that they are on track. Helps when you never really lay down a track to begin with lol.
I think it's more of a case of releasing it before summer hits. Most recent MMOs that have launched in September had lackluster results. NCSoft also had released Aion in the fall a few years ago and it didn't go as well as they wanted. Not saying you're wrong, I just think they will release sooner rather than later if it's deemed ready after March/April Betas.
Their release window also needs to hit while the market is clammering for something to do. With WoW in a declining state and MoP still an unknown timeframe away, it would do them more harm than good to push it beyond June. I still believe (maybe just because I want to believe) that we will see an end April release date. Especially if they are merely "bug hunting" at this point as was said a few pages ago.
Either way, look at the launch lineup for the rest of the year. With two "niche" games in Secret World and Tera launching in April/May, you can see them wanting to push the game a little. However, if they push too far back they will bump into MoP which they do not want to do.
They also have to realize that their financial model is extremely different than their last MMO launch and it is different than anything out on the market besides their own GW1. Even if they did launch near another title or during the summer months, they are more likely to see no significant financial loss because of it.
