Folding bikes

Hi, interested in getting one of these, does anyone have any personal experiences/knowledge about them? I've seen people with Dahons around, I basically want a bike I can a) fit easily inside my tiny apartment, b) take on a train without having to buy an extra ticket, c) ride around town on, and d) do occasional longer trips when the weather is good. Places for shopping/daypacks are a must.

I'm pretty much a bike noob when it comes to models etc., but I'm not afraid to spend up to around 500ish euro on the right bike.

I've got 2 birdies and they are great. Closest thing to a problem was the chain breaking, but that was my own dumb fault for wanting to go mountain biking with it.

I'd avoid giants as they are either hit or miss in terms of likability. Some people love their geometry while others get leg and back problems as a result.

Checking out the Dahon website and seeing the specs shows that its pretty good. The D7 looks the best in terms of quality from what I can see, but this is based on images only from their website and not seeing it in person.

Yeah I think the birdies are out of my price range unfortunately, I might stick with a Dahon... now to find one!
