I finished up the first area and will move on to Mexico the next time I play. The difficulty seems low so far, I hope it ramps up.

Many of the characters you meet are great, and I really like Marston. I'd like to drag that snake oil salesman around on my horse though.

The dialogue is good too.

I got spawned into a random gang match where the opposing team blocked off our entire spawn point. It got to the point where I had to crouch and get far enough away in order to not die as soon as I spawned, took fucking forever.

Yeah thats annoying. Its happened a few times where I spawned right next to an enmy for them to gun me down before I got my barings. and is it just me, or is the upgraded pistol OP in multiplayer. Killing ppl from way across the map lol.

I'm back to SP and gonna play it until I get my dead eye... so that I know how to use it in MP.

You and me both. I must've gotten gunned down 6+ times at $990ish bounty, and then when I finally hit $1,000, 7:30 into the timer and everyone in the room except me and snotties or w/e disconnect and I get swamped by lawmen.

Taking a break until this evening, needless to say.

Quick question: Wanted to get this, but I'm not home right now (next couple weeks). Would the progression in the online component carry over? or is it linked to a saved game file? I probably wouldn't start story mode until I got home, so I wouldn't have to do it over again, but might get it to play some mp, especially if a lot of BG'ers are playing on PS3.

Cowboy Outfit (duh, they give it to you)
Gentlemans Attire (High Stakes Poker Game in Blackwater)
Deadly Assassin (Free my ass, should of bought the normal game, deadeye regen's 2x as fast)
Elegant Suit (Cheating during poker is fun)
Walton's Gang Outfit (makes you look like part of waltons gang)
Bollard Twins ('see above, different gang')
Treasure Hunter (havent finished yet so idk)
Bandito's Outfit (outlaws will welcome you in mexico)
Reyes Rebels outfit (i imagine you can fit in with the rebels, idk yet)
Mexican Poncho (souvenir... lol seriously.)
Dusters Coat (does absolutely nothing)

Theres only 5 more than I havent found.. plus the 2 i havent finished.. will update as needed.

Well back to square one for me, only at least this time I know it's not just me failing at the internet. Spent the last half hour trying to get into public and private matches alike only to be booted before the loading screen even pops up. Did a quick google search and although I wasn't getting anything last night, now there are a bunch of articles talking about the graphical drop outs including your character, outfitters editor, gun, hat, horse, vehicle, people shooting at you, animals attacking you as well as flat out impossible connection problems seem to be persistent on the 360. Bonus points are when you get booted for network problems any experience progression is erased if a save hasn't happened. Doesn't seem to be affecting the PS3; lolme at choosing the wrong system again <_<

Yeah. The game isn't bad, but the dialog is a god damn nightmare. The voice acting is up there as well. If the main character says "That's a fine <insert noun> you've got there" one more time, he's going off a series of cliffs.

The only thing I hate about this game is the multiplayer not having a true matchmaking for the other modes. I personally would like to just join in on a random gang match or free for all game.

Free Roam is great all but it gets boring after a while, if you're not doing anything like a gang raid or something.

I don't dislike the dialogue at all. I guess I can kind of see how it would bother some people? I am just hearing what I would expect to hear in any old school Western flick. There are a few token annoying 'rat faced voices' but overall, the script is likeable and that probably helps the dialogue.

Maybe I am just used to some recent nightmares where Voice Acting is concerned? And that is clouding common sense? Right now this is all one big shiny mess and all the bad is getting shoved under the amazing as shit look of the damn thing, which I keep reading is noticeably superior on the Xbox version (Ars Technica review, and a few others), Sub HD blah blah blah.

Also, I don't mention that trying to invite any kind of fanboy rage at all. I just can't imagine that this game isn't fun as hell, and damn nice looking whichever console you play it on. I wish I could join all of you on PS3 actually, but Gamefly sent me the 360 version and I will probably just keep that one as a few good friends are playing on 360.

Amazon emailed me a golden guns code and there was one in the box too. They're different so it looks like one is a freebie, and judging from the number of codes on ebay I'm not the only one. I didn't notice it until now because it was behind the manual. If anyone wants to trade for one of the other preorder items that'd be cool. It says PS3 so I guess they're console specific.

From the look of it the code just makes your first pistol and rifle gold, none of the other guns seem to be affected, and you don't have to earn them at all. I don't know if you can turn it off though.

Ive seen both versions, side by side, on the same tv(I own two tv's the exact same, room mate with xbox version) and they look exactly the same.
