Anyone else pre-order this through best buy and not get their reward zone bonus points yet?

rdr is a fun game- traded demon souls and dragon age in for it. Cut scenes are great. The PvP sucks if you're a newbie
Yeah after reading your post I actually called them (1-888-237-8289 if anyone cares) and the guy was really helpful. I know on their site it said 250 bonus points for pre order and my local Best Buy ad had an additional 500 bonus points if you bought RDR the first week it was out. So I told him that and he said he would add 750 points to my account lol.

Undead Nightmare "coming very soon", standard 10 dollar price point. looks awesome
Yay, something other than paying $10 for a new weapon or pre-existing character models / maps. Been waiting for some single player DLC for a while, the online DLCs have been pretty disappointing so far.
As for recent SP DLC, the latest Mass Effect 2 DLC was great, and Bioshock 2 minerva's den is supposedly phenomenal. Alan Wake's first DLC was really good too (2nd one comes out next month). I've been pretty disappointed with my fair share of DLC in the past, but at least a few developers seem to be coming out with some decent stuff lately.
edit: and I guess you could call Dead Rising Case Zero a DLC prequel, I had a lot of fun with that for 5 bucks.
I think I might just wait and get the retail release for the sake of having the other DLC along with a cool case to add to my collection. Hope it has some means of playing the other multiplayer DLC included on it using the normal RDR disc, but I doubt it.
how big of a DLC is that? hours of play*
I'm probably going to skip on the 'wait for retail release' thing since it's a month away, and it runs $29. On PSN (likely XBLA as well) they released a DLC bundle for RDR that contains everything for $19, which I'm probably going to nab, as it saves me $10 if I were to buy them separately. Shit looks too fun to pass up, and with the introduction of Friendly Free Roam, perhaps I should get back to working on my platinum trophy, been trying to do that 10-min bounty thing for quite some time now.
Still, for just the Undead add-on, $10 looks like a steal for the content it provides.
This Undead Nightmare is pretty fucking awesome, I am 5 hours in and about halfway done with it, having a blast thus far.
Seems the Undead Nightmare add-on is also the best means of getting that 500-cannon kill achievement/trophy.
I'm holding off on the add-on for now since I decided I wanted to finish RDR itself first. Got about 14 missions left until I beat that....then working on 100%'ing the single player side for trophies, and off to the long road to lvl50 online. ;/
It's incredibly satisfying to trample a group of undead with War or Death. Also, for anyone attempting the Undead Hunter Rank 4 challenge: you should probably get used to either engaging bears/cougars in an area with obstacles like trees, or in a more wide open area.
Trying to take them down with the torch is hard enough as it is. I found it easier to just hit them (and thus set them ablaze) and kite on my horse or use the trees to kite until the fire died down. Rinse and repeat to kill. If they run away for some reason (had this happen on one bear and a two cougars, both near death), hit them with the Lasso (Dead Eye if you need to, make sure you snare them). It stops them from running and presents a chance to strike them again before they begin running around/attempt to attack again.
Becareful with the bears too, as i've had the misfortune of three of them showing up after I dropped the first (just get on your horse and drop the extras).
I got side-tracked by other games for awhile. I tend to bounce back/forth with sandbox games since it takes me awhile to get in the mood to chew away at the check-list for 100% completion.
Going to grab that DLC bundle within the next two weeks though, as I want to get the online trophies that require players out of the way while people are still playing.
[EDIT] Double XP this weekend apparently. Going to spend most of the day farming Pike's Basin, if anyone wants in, PSN is Genexi2. Already went from level 21 to 33 in a couple hours, 2k XP a pop at 3-4min depending on how well the runs go.
Undead Nightmare could very well be the best DLC add-on I've ever played, this is awesome![]()
ok yknow what I take that back, fuck this torch bullshit
Yeah the torch is kind of annoying to use... once you figure out how to keep your ammo from running out, you'll be loving it again. They really did a good job with it. It was a pretty fun twist to make the game interesting again for a little while.
actually, no
I'm talking about the challenge where you have to kill bears/cougars with the torch, which is nearly impossible without cheating with the lasso or one of the four horses. I've tried nearly 20-30 times now, not to mention at least an hour spent just riding around tall trees trying to find a cougar/bear. I'm about ready to use Pestilence and cheese my way through it but oh hey, Pestilence isn't spawning either.
I like the Torch for killing regular undead but it's a real pity that an awesome DLC is blemished by such a cheap and retarded challenge.
so far 4 hours and no chupacabra, it's the last thing I need to do in this DLC
