Piece of shit EA Download Manager

Alright so I bought The Sims 3 on the EA store and downloaded/installed it with EA's shitty download manager. I got it installed, updated, and played it fine on my windows xp machine. I decided to install it on another computer with Vista on it, and when I go to click play i get an error which says "The license limit for this product has been reached" when i know for a fact it was only installed on one computer. It is supposed to be allowed to be activated on three machines total, why the fuck would it say that?

I ask this question here because apparently other people are having the same problem except with other games they download via EADM. Has anyone here had this problem and have a fix for it?

I have "run as administrator" selected and my user account is an administrator.

    thanks for any replies.

    Googling found this:

Seems to be what your problem is from what you've told me (or at least closely related), and it is indeed the download manager messing with things. Doesn't seem that you can get away with installing it w/o using that though, and its too late anyway at this point. It may be too late to fix it retroactively at this point from what the article says at this part:

I hate new-age PC games so much because of shit like this. Pirates on the other hand have zero issues because the DRM is stripped out lol... mmm gotta love how corporate America thinks sometimes. Anyways, I really hope that link solves your problem for you, good luck!

"Cannot write license data" isnt the error im getting, "license limit for this product has been reached" is what its telling me.

ive googled this shit for hours, none of the replies help within the first 4-5 pages

i will try the fix it says on the website though, thanks for the link
