People complained 9 was "too hard" and so they added a easy mode for the casuals.

Watch them charge us again for the harder difficulties. -.-
An easy mode will actually allow my friends to play Megaman with me because they always complain how they suck ass and its too hard and won't touch it with a 50 foot pole lol
I had expected more hardcore gamers to have played 9 since they'd have likely done 1-7 at least (8 in some circumstances). Can't really imagine a casual player wanting to play an old looking game than something with graphics or gimmicks, except maybe as a nostalgia thing...
I found 9 not has hard as certain elements from past classic megaman games in honest truth but 9 was up there in difficulty especially with Protoman mode and those challenges (which I probably should continue doing actually).
Guessing the easy mode is to also help for the co-op mode so a casual gamer can play as well.
Speculation, but since Roll gets effected anyone see her as a boss?
9 Wasn't too bad, though the placement of some spikes made it pretty annoying in some areas. MM1 is still the hardest to me, friggin' Yellow Devil.People complained 9 was "too hard" and so they added a easy mode for the casuals.
I still think the hardest part out of any Megaman game is Megaman 7's final boss.
Seriously, I can waste all my E-Tanks, S-Tank and Wild Coil energy and still not beat Wily. If there was ever a contender against Yellow Devil, its this boss -_-
MM8 was absolutely amazing.. how can people deny this? Gameplay wise and the music was probably the best of the series of games.
The more animal-based bosses created for Megamans, the less I love the franchise.
Megaman 9 doesn't exist, its such a lie <.<
It was a while ago but I remember reading that there wouldn't really be any more 'real' Megaman games in the series, the original creator of megaman even said he was probably never going to be able to finish the series and link the storyline between megaman and X
Normal
Easy
Megaman ZX Advent (The most recent, new, traditional platformer) didn't sell well enough for the company to green light further expensive, traditional projects. In the following months after MMZXA it was said in an interview that the only MM game that has a chance of appearing on home consoles would be Legends 3. MM9 and 10 are relatively cheap, easy projects with high income so I'm sure Capcom has no issues making those. So yeah, chances are the link between classic and X will never see the light of day.

Scrap this project and Megaman Legends 3 plzthx
did they really have to do this?
i thought Megaman 8 was a step in the right direction.. bringing the original franchise forward technologically, graphically, and in terms of gameplay...
when 9 came along i was just befuddled..
not that i dont like classic Megaman, but its one of the only gaming franchises i know that is actually regressive.. and not particularly good for the series because its basically trying to be stale.
capcom amuses me with their weird business decisions, but 10 just takes the cake.
Yeah, what's with Capcom and their high profit business decisions I'll never understand them.
Although I say that, it sucks that there won't be anymore ZX games cause they didn't sell well enough... I thought ZX Advent was one of the best MM games in general.
In interviews Inafune has made it clear time and again that he's not interested in what the fans want over what will make the company money. That's why the shit pile that is Shooting Star Rockman is getting more attention over Legends 3 which has been mentioned in some way or form in nearly all of his recent interviews. If memory serves, Inafune may have also been the one that said developing Street Fighter 4 would be a waste of time (Since it was a traditional 2D fighter). Yeah, turns out the creator of Megaman is kind of a dick. Who knew?
Edit
What Capcom fails to understand is that the old Megaman games were fun despite their graphics, not because of them. Graphics don't make a game, and I believe it's entirely possible to make a full 3D or 2.5D Megaman that's just as good as 2 if they did it right. Right now they're just milking the classic Megaman image since it attracts the widest audience possible.
so wait are they making Legends 3? /confused
