Sure lately, but their offense completely makes up for it. The Eagles are not offensively as deep as NO. Sure they get big plays and have offense but not like the saints. And they are a team that has gotten into the playoffs in years past with their defense which is why I said what I said. I wasn't talking about anyone but the Eagles or outside of the NFC East.

There was no Super Bowl in 1960. ;p And Norm van Brocklin was a badass.

The last decade of Eagles football has been exemplary. I think a lot of fans that are quick to bitch about Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb should remember how lean some of those years prior were. Woo, Ray Rhodes and Koy Detmer. I'd rather have a team that you can bank on being respectable and give you a hell of a ride than a team that doesn't inspire any joy at all (Sixers, Flyers, looking in your direction).

I forgot that winning out required luck of other teams, mahbad.

It's studio slang to the producer to let the Cambodian hookers in for the aftergame.

P.S. Fuck the Raiders and Jamarcus Russel forever for causing me to get knocked out of the playoffs in FF.

I'm an Eagles fan, always have been, and I asked a few of my friends about the contract extension. One of them instantly said it was a terrible move by the Eagles management and asked me where all of Andy's rings are. The other one had this great analogy:

"Andy Reid is like a guy who you ask for directions on the side of the road. Some people will just tell you where you have to go, and then some people will get in their car and you can follow them there. Andy Reid is the type of guy who leads you far enough so that you can see your destination, and then drives off the road and into a ditch. Now, do you want the stranger who barely helps you and may not help you get to your goal, or do you want the guy who will drive you towards a ditch half a mile from your stop?"

Now, the way I see it, Reid is a great coach. I think a lot of teams would kill to have him on their sidelines because he really does know what he's doing from a player perspective, though I feel like McNabb's leadership and play-calling qualities have a lot to do with that. He seems to get along really well with the rest of the team and it looks like they're a very cohesive unit with Reid at the helm, which I think was a big part of the reason they extended his contract. I would rather stick with Reid and continue to be a perennial contender in the hopes that one day we get over the hump, instead of being like the Falcons or Panthers and never being able to maintain even consecutive winning seasons. I'm very happy with how the team is currently being operated, and I hope that even after his coaching days are over that Reid continues to stick around Philadelphia in an advisory or GM role. I think that the last few drafts have gone extremely well for the Eagles (look at our talent that we have in the WR and RB positions for evidence of that, plus Celek is the TE that we always wanted from L.J. Smith, and we have Kolb waiting in the wings who is obviously capable of running the offense), and we just need that little push to get the Super Bowl win, whatever that may be. Pittsburgh, Indy, and NE are always considered among the legendary playoff contenders from year to year, and I think Philly should be included in that conversation. I don't think that the Eagles would be in the same place it is now without Andy Reid.
See? I knew there had to be some Philly fans that actually look a the big picture. The past 10 years of the Eagles could be compared to being invited to 10 different weddings, you may not be the one getting married, but there's several brides maids that are constantly giving you attention.
On the other hand, with those handful of mediocre teams, it's like being the groom at a huge wedding but after a year, your wife cheats on you with the gardener, wants a divorce, and winds up taking half your stuff. In the long run you're worse off than you started, but at least you got a ring for your efforts right?

If the Eagles can fix that in four weeks, and it looks like they will, then they might be the team to beat in January.
With the way Reid is building the team, the Eagles will have their day within one of his remaining 3 years. (Hopefully not the same time the Flyers win the Stanley cup lol) Maybe not this year, but it's going to happen. The jury is still out on the "Michael Vick Experiment" but it's not like Vick was going to come back and blow shit up like he used to. Depending on if Mcnabb gets an extension on his contract, (instead of more money) Colb's contract, and whether or not next season is going to be uncapped salary, Vick might be a valuable asset next season whether as a starter or a big trade.

Ok Eagles, get it together. You know you'd rather play @ Arizona than home vs. Green Bay in the opening round. No more winning, you have your wildcard locked down in the East (lolCowboys), let the Giants take the division.

You take the Saints, we'll take the Vikings, see you in the NFC championship game.

if the giants win out, they are in if dallas loses just 1 more game lol
that's not needing luck that's needing inevitability

    for the giants:
    @ redskins - winnable
vs car - shouldnt be a prob
@ min - as long as min doesnt lose in the next 2 weeks this game will mean nothing to them

    for the cowboys:
    @ NO - lol
@ redskins - you trust the cowboys?
vs eagles - remember last year?

tbh unless either the cowboys switch jerseys or half the giants are killed in a plane crash, giants are in and the cowboys are out

Tbh, and I know I'm gonna sound like a homer, but I think NO is our most winnable game for the next few games. The Redskins, i mean cmon the FUCKING REDSKINS nearly beat them, and they nearly lost to backup driven ATL. Just sayin. But regardless, hypothetically if we beat NO or the redskins, we have to beat the eagles or else we are gonna be bounced. At this point it's either division title or no post season (unless we get some luck and Min plays to win at the end of the season). And tbh, this december I REALLY wanna blame the losses on the playcalling, we lost by three and there were 10 lost points by the 'boys. We'll see how they play next week. Don't forget, Eagles game is in January so there's still ho-

Speaking of TO, what's this I'm reading about him being open to going back to the 49ers? I mean you see how Singletary did Vernon last year, seeing TO in that situation would be weird.

But hey, he's done good this year so Ill give him some credit. I mean if I had to play with Trent Edwards I too would be pretty upset, that's bad when anyone would prefer Ryan Fitzpatrick to any other QB in the league.

He said he's open to return to 49s... damn that'd be a force all they would need is a QB to throw to them.
