A Chinese student appears to have been the butt of a somewhat strange prank following a nasty incident with a remote control.

Nineteen-year-old Huang Chen mystified medics when he turned up drunk at Hunan Hangtian Hospital in Changsha, complaining of unexplained pain from his rear end.

While being examined, the tipsy student turned over in bed, and inadvertently changed channel on the ward's telly.

Astonishing X-rays later revealed that the teenager had a TV remote control lodged up his backside.

Police say it was a part of a prank played by flatmates on Chen when he collapsed after a boozy night out.

"We didn't know what it was to start with. There was a little bit of blood but he didn't say anything about a remote control. We couldn't quite believe it when we saw the X-ray," said medic Dr Wei Lung Zhi.

"He will be fine in time but the remote was a write off," he added.

It is a pretty decent sized remote, the white opaque object is just the batteries, you can see the outline of the remote if you look closely.

I read the story, and the first thing I thought of was, "Wow, the remote was already programmed to the hospital's TV? What a coincidence!"

My Samsung remote pretty much works on every Samsung TV I've seen/used around. Heck, it gets annoying when it controls 2 TV's at once.

You would need an RF remote control to work through that amount of flesh. I can't see a shitty hospital TV using a remote like that. <_<

edit: That and the placement seems impossible to me. That's navel high so it would be in the top part of the large intestine, which doesn't seem likely for something that large. It's also oriented in a way just doesn't fit.

Yeah, I don't know why the hell you would fake something like this, but the changing the channel thing is suspicious enough (my butt hurts. the tv just changed channels. I must have a remote control up my ass, let's xray. That would totally be MY exact line of thinking...)
