Windower 3.42 Released

uhh, does anyone else have auto-translate text showing up in japanese since updating? the only ones that don't seem to be affected are in search comments, everything else, ls chat, shout, say, tell are all displaying in japanese for me. don't have anything IME-related loaded up, nor do I have the JP client installed.

edit- i should also add, it wasn't doing this initially. i d/c'ed, got booted to POL, and went straight back into the game, started happening after that.

I had this issue today. Like everyone else, I just logged completely out and it fixed itself.

After yesterdays update I *think* everything is looking a bit more washed out than usual, as if the colour gamma or depth has been changed. I normally run at gamma 55, and now find the background around the party members names to be lighter than usual. It might be my eyes playing tricks though.

The difference between 3.42 and the "Alpha 4" is significant. When I use the newer Windower my eyes notice it.

I can't hear sound effects in game, but music plays fine. Using windows 7 64-bit.

Just making sure, but do you have 12+ sounds set in the launcher?

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious. But this happened to me awhile back. (Since music still will play with sounds set to 0)

Not that it's a huge problem, but Windower-enabled PoL crashes when you get to the VbV/SecureCode thing that launches a browser in the background. Did that on the previous versions too.

Updating from recent versions is just updating the hook.dll, ya?

I grabbed the "BAN ALL OF CHINAAAAAA" List which contained other countries too >_> I Disabled the Japanese list but guess I didn't notice korea.

Korea unbanned now.

After the little POL update this morning my game crashes if I try to use COR rolls. Dunno if that's a windower issue or not.

Aikar, you always impress me with your hard work. Don't ever stop. This update fixed the one and only thing that actually bugged me about windower, exiting and having the game crash. I thought I was the only person who had that problem.

then the game crashes, i found a workaround by running the original POL viewer till the passwrod screen, then minimize it and run windower till i get into the game.

Do any of you know a way to fix it?

It may be a plugin that needs to be updated, try commenting them all out in your init.txt and see if it launches.

This happened for me on 3.41 but not on the latest version. Are you sure you have the very latest version?

Does it crash when the actual FFXI window opens?

If so disable Distance autoload. It causes crashes on my system and I've read about it being a very common issue.

Use the attached screenshot to look at what to do. Just add the part I highlighted in your Windower/scripts/init.txt file.
